Rudra and Chamaka together referred to as Sri Rudram is a part of Yajurveda Samhita. Eleven Anuvakas of Rudra and Eleven Anuvakas of Chamaka or Prashna are chanted eleven times by eleven purohits (priests) in this Maha Rudra Homa at Kailash.

The prayers with homa are offered to Lord Shiva, to seek all necessary things like continued health, wealth and prosperity.
