Srirangappattana is a temple-town with Puranic and historic background. Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple has enjoyed the royal patronage of Gangas. Hoysalas , Vijayanagar Empire and the Wodeyars of Mysuru.

The temple is administered by Muzrai Department of Government of Karnataka.

ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಒಂದು ಪೌರಾಣಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದ ಯಾತ್ರ ಸ್ದಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಧಾಮ. ಹಿಂದೆ ಗಂಗರ, ಹೊಯ್ಸಳರ ,ವಿಜಯನಗರ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ವೊಡೆಯರ‍್‌ಗಳ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು.

ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಮುಜರಾಯಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಆಡಳಿತಕ್ಕೊಳಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ.
