Importance of Gau Puja | Gau Graasa
Sanatan Dharma has given the Gau (Cow) a very sacred postion in the everyday life. Gau has been given the same status as mother. Gau Pooja or Go Puja has been prescribed as the everyday procedure in the scriptures. Gau Graasa or Gograsa is nothing but the fodder to be provided to the cows. Feeding cows is said to give us a lot of positive vibrations.
Performing Gau Puja, Gau Daan and offering Gau Graasa is capable of removing all kinds of sins. Performing these time-tested, proven rituals with the help of experienced Vedic Pandits, Purohits or Panthulu can be a very satisfying experience in life.
Nearly 36 deities have taken abode in the body of a cow and hence it is a sin to harm it. The base of cow horns is an abode of Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu. Lord Shiva resides in the forehead and Goddess Uma resides in the middle of the forehead. The nose is an abode of Lord Ganesh and the nose tip is the abode of Kartikeya (Murugan). Lord Yama resides in the heart, holy River Yamuna resides in cow dung while Goddess Lakshmi resides at the hind part of the cow. The sages, rishis reside in the hair of the cow and other gods reside at the base of the tail. Her four legs are the four Vedas.
