Sri Koikad Sreekrishna Swami Temple, is said to be more than 1000 years old place of worship. The temple was founded by bringing the temple in boat from Thrippoonithura (Chithrapuzha) and the Bimbam (Idol in the temple) developed by the maker of Peringamala Mahavishnu Temple and Pothiyil Mahavishnu Temple and at the same time of consecrate of those temples. At that time the owner of the temple was not able to consecrate the Idol due to some financial liabilities. So he was found solution to the expenses for maintaining the temple by saving the wages from working as Shanthi (priest) in Alappuzha Sreekrishna Swami temple’s. From the experience of Devotees that, praying in this temple will avail fulfillment for excellence in studies and also helps for born children those who does not have children. നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകള്‍ പഴക്കമുള്ള ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം തൃപ്പൂണിത്തുറ (ചിത്രപ്പുഴ) ഭാഗത്തുനിന്നും വള്ളത്തില്‍ കൊണ്ടു വന്ന് സ്ഥാപിച്ചതാണ് എന്നും ബിംബം പെരിങ്ങാമല മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം,പൊതിയില്‍ മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രം തുടങ്ങിയ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലെ ബിംബ ശില്പിയുടെ കരവിരുതില്‍ തീര്‍ത്ത് ഒരേ സമയം പ്രതിഷ്ടിച്ചതാണ് എന്നും ഐതിഹ്യം.അന്ന് പ്രതിഷ്ഠ നടത്താന്‍ സാമ്പത്തിക ബാധ്യത വന്നപ്പോള്‍ അന്നത്തെ ഉടമ അമ്പലപ്പുഴ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ ശാന്തിക്കു പോയി കിട്ടിയ ശമ്പളം സ്വരുക്കൂട്ടിയാണ് പ്രതിഷ്ടാ ചിലവുകള്‍ നടത്തിയത് എന്നും പഴമക്കാര്‍ പറയുന്നു.ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ വന്ന് മനസ്സുരുകി പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിച്ചാല്‍ വിശിഷ്യാ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിനും കുട്ടികള്‍ ഇല്ലാത്തവര്‍ക്കും കര്യസിദ്ധി വരുമെന്ന് അനുഭവമുള്ളതാണ്.
