He has dedicated his humble life to the worship of Lord Ganapathy and to the rendering and exposition of the Bhagavatham, Born on February 2, 1921 son of Parameswaran Namboothiri and Arya Antherjanam, he passed through long and trying phases of illness and suffering. On the advice of Brahmasree Padappa Nampoothiri, he started rendering the Bhagavatham in total surrender to Lord Guruvayurappan. Very soon matters took a turn for the better; his health improved and the Temple was restored to its former glory. His Bhagavatham sessions are renowned for their blend of simplicity and erudition, attracting thousands of devotees. He was awarded the title Bhagavatha Hamsam, having successfully completed 2,500 Bhagavatha Sapthas. He also awarded the ‘Poonthanam Puraskaram’ instituted by the Akhila Bharatha Sree Guruvayoorappan Bhaktha Samithi and ‘Dharmashreshta puraskara’ by Kerala Barahmana Sabha.
