A vast area of the temple were under the possession of Chottanikkara Pallippurathu Mana. Later, through a ‘Pattayam’ this Holy place was going under the rule of other castes and its glory began to slide down. After big suits, a court verdict was supporting the people around, those were forwarded some 40 cents of land. In 1980, Kerala Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi was under taking this spiritual centre. Krishnasila is used completely for the craft of the idol and the construction of the Kovil. Another surprise is, a brooklet [ small stream] is flowing from the Northern to the Southern side. When it reaches near the temple , take a turn and flows to the Eastern part. Again another deviation takes the river near the Holy place. Again one more turn its flows towards South. ചോറ്റാനിക്കര പള്ളിപ്പുറത്ത് മനയുടെ കീഴിലായിരുന്നു ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്‍റെ പരിസരം മുഴുവനും.പിന്നിട് പട്ടയമായി ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം അന്യജാതിക്കാരുടെ കയ്യിലാവുകയും അവരാല്‍ നശിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു..അതിനുശേഷം കോടതി വിധിയില്‍ പരിസരവാസികള്‍ക്ക് നാല്പതുസെന്‍റ് സ്ഥലം ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനനുകൂലമായി ലഭിച്ചു.തുടര്‍ന്ന് 1980-ല്‍ കേരള ക്ഷേത്രസംരക്ഷണ സമതി ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം ഏറ്റെടുത്തു.ശ്രീകോവിലടക്കം കൃഷ്ണശിലയാല്‍ നിര്‍മ്മിച്ച ക്ഷേത്രമാണിത്.ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് സമീപം വടക്ക് നിന്നും തെക്കോട്ടൊഴുകുന്ന തോട് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്‍റെ അരികിലെത്തുമ്പോള്‍ ദിശമാറി കിഴക്കോട്ടൊഴുകി വീണ്ടും ദിശമാറി ക്ഷേത്രാതിര്‍ത്തിയിലൂടെ തെക്കോട്ടോഴുകുന്നു എന്നത് ഇവിടുത്തെ ഒരു പ്രത്യേകതയാണ്.ജീര്‍ണ്ണാവസ്ഥയിലുള്ള സമയത്ത് ഇവിടെനിന്നും ഓടക്കുഴല്‍വിളി കേട്ടതായും ദേവിസാന്നിധ്യം കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ളതായി പഴമക്കാര്‍ പറയപ്പെടുന്നു.
