In the year of 1926, Sri Susheelendra Tirtha, the Peethadhipati of Sri Mantralayam Mutt visited Udupi, all the seers of Ashta Mutts came together and participated in the consecration of Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mruttika Brundavan. The Seer of Adamaru Mutt, Sri Vibudhapriya Tirtha made a special donation to mark the occasion by giving the Tulasi Brindavan which had a history of 500 years. To this day there is no Tulasi Brindavan at the Adamaru Mutt. This auspicious occasion was made special by the presence of Peetadhipatis that included the likes of Sri Vibudhapriya Tirtha of Adamaru Mutt, Sri Vidyasamudra Tirtha of Kaniyur Mutt, Sri Viswamanya Tirtha of Pejawara Mutt, Sri Viswendra Tirtha of Sode Mutt and Sri Sujnanendra Tirtha of Puttige Mutt. The Mutt was further renovated by Sri Sushamindra Tirtha. 1926ರ ಜನವರಿ 5ರಂದು ಅಂದಿನ ಮಂತ್ರಾಲಯ ಮಠದ ಪೀಠಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಶೀಲೇಂದ್ರತೀರ್ಥರು ಉಡುಪಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದಾಗ, ಎಲ್ಲ ಅಷ್ಟಮಠಗಳ ಪೀಠಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಇಚ್ಛೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳ ಮೃತ್ತಿಕಾ ಬೃಂದಾವನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಿದರು. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷವೆಂದರೇ, ಅಂದಿನ ಅದಮಾರು ಮಠದ, ಸುಮಾರು 500 ವರ್ಷ ಇತಿಹಾಸವಿದ್ದ ತುಳಸಿ ಬೃಂದಾವನವನ್ನೇ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಯರ ಬೃಂದಾವನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಉಡುಪಿಯ ಅದಮಾರು ಮಠದಲ್ಲಿ ತುಳಸಿಕಟ್ಟೆ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದೇ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ದ್ಯೋತಕವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬೃಂದಾವನದ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪನಾ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದಿನ ಪರ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಅದಮಾರು ಮಠದ ಪೀಠಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಬುಧಪ್ರಿಯತೀರ್ಥರು, ಅಂದಿನ ಕಾಣಿಯೂರು ಮಠದ ಪೀಠಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ವಿದ್ಯಾಸಮುದ್ರತೀರ್ಥರು, ಪೇಜಾವರ ಮಠದ ವಿಶ್ವಮಾನ್ಯತೀರ್ಥರು, ಸೋದೆ ಮಠದ ವಿಶ್ವೇಂದ್ರತೀರ್ಥರು ಹಾಗೂ ಪುತ್ತಿಗೆಮಠದ ಸುಜ್ಞಾನೇಂದ್ರತೀರ್ಥರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ನಂತರ ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಶಮೀಂದ್ರತೀರ್ಥರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಮಠದ ಜೀರ್ಣೋದ್ದಾರ ಕಾರ್ಯವೂ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.

It is believed that, Sri Raghavendra Swamy prepared a golden idol of Lord Sri Krishna here and did puja in the presence of the Udupi Sri Krishna and took it to Mantralayam. The same idol is still undergoing puja in Sri Raghavendra Swamy Samsthanam. ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ, ಭಾಗಶಃ ಎಲ್ಲ ರಾಯರಮಠದ ಪೀಠಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೂ ಉಡುಪಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಯರು, ತಮ್ಮ ಉಡುಪಿ ಯಾತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಮಂತ್ರಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಡುವಾಗ ಕೃಷ್ಣನಿಂದ ದೂರ ಹೋಗಲಾಗದೆ, ತಾವೇ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟು ಪೂಜಿಸಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಮಂತ್ರಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯು ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರಮಠ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂಜೆಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದೆ.

Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mula Mutt in Udupi is near the Kar Street of Sri Krishna Mutt. The site for this Mutt is believed to have been handed over to Sri Vijayeendra Tirtha, who was the ParamaGuru of Sri Raghavendra Swamy. In later days, Sri Sudheendra Tirtha and Sri Raghavendra Swamy would camp here, whenever they visited Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt. It is believed that, the two of great works of Sri Raghavendra Swamy named “Tatparya Chandrikege Prakasha” and “Nyaya MuktavaLi” were prepared here in Udupi. The song “indu Enage Govinda” by Sri Raghavendra Swamy is a composition dedicated to Udupi Sri Krishna. The history of Udupi says, many convocations celebrations of ‘Parimala Mangala’ were conducted here by Sri Raghavendra Swamy. ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಇಂದಿನ ಶ್ರೀರಾಯರ ಮಠದ ನಿವೇಶನವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀ ವಾದಿರಾಜರು ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರರ ಪರಮಗುರುಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಜಯೀಂದ್ರರಿಗೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರಿಸಿದರೆಂದು ಕೆಲವು ಮೂಲಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ತಿಳಿದುಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ನಂತರ, ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಧೀಂದ್ರ ತೀರ್ಥರು ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳು ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ಸರ್ವಜ್ಞಪೀಠದ ದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಉಡುಪಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲೇ ವಾಸ್ತವ್ಯ ಹೂಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಯರು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ತಾತ್ಪರ್ಯ ಚಂದ್ರಿಕೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ ಎಂಬ ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನ ಹಾಗೂ ನ್ಯಾಯಮುಕ್ತಾವಳಿ ಎಂಬೆರಡು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳು ಮತ್ತು “ಇಂದು ಎನಗೆ ಗೋವಿಂದ” ಎಂಬ ಕನ್ನಡದ ದೇವರನಾಮವನ್ನೂ ರಚಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಇದೇ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ಬಾರಿ ಪರಿಮಳದ ಮಂಗಳ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ಇತಿಹಾಸವಿದೆ.
