Kali Temple Street, Devaraja Mohalla, Mandi Mohalla, Mysore, Karnataka 570001 Sri Kodi Bhairava Temple is one of the temples in the compound of the Mysore Palace is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is so called because it is located on the 'Kodi' or weir of Devaraya Sagara. This Shiva temple is associated with the founders of the Mysore Royal family or the Yadu dynasty. The temple has a statue of Bhairava that is about a metre high. In his four hands, the Lord Shiva has a trident, a drum, a skull and a sword. The temple features a prakara (an enclosure) with a big main entrance or mahadwara. The mahadwara has two niches that exhibit images of Bhairava and Ganapati.
