The temple is located at Kothamanagalam, in Ernakulam district of Kerala.The main deity is Sri Bhuvaneswary Devi, who showers Her divine love on the devotees. The main offerings are “Muttirakkal” and “Pongala”, which are believed to be very sacred. The devotees who perform these Sevas , can see their wishes come true by Devi’s blessings.” Every Malayalam month, on the Makam day and on all Fridays temple conducts “Prasadaoottu”.Apart from the Sevas, the temple trust runs Maathrusamithi, Religious institute, varioius social activities and worships. The temple hails a history of more than 300 years. Later, due to many reasons including natural hazards and calamities, ignorance etc. it slowly went to destruction. But, about 60 years back the temple was rebuilt and in 1991, the Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi took over its administration. Now it is a sacred place and Sri Bhuvaneswari Devi showers Her blessings to the devotees. എറണാകുളംജില്ലയില്‍കോതമംഗലംഎന്നസ്ഥലത്താണ്ഈക്ഷേത്രo സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ആശ്രിതവത്സലയായശ്രീഭുവനേശ്വരിദേവിയാണ്ഇലഞ്ഞിക്കല്‍കാവ്ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെപ്രധാനപ്രതിഷ്ഠ. ഇവിടുത്തെമുട്ടിറക്കല്‍വഴിപാടുംഉത്സവനാളിലെപൊങ്കാലസമര്‍പ്പണവുംവളരെപ്രസിദ്ധമാണ്. ഉദ്ധിഷ്ടകാര്യസിദ്ധിക്കായിനടത്തുന്നഈവഴിപാട്ധാരാളംഭക്തര്‍ക്ക്പ്രയോജനംചെയ്തതായിട്ട്അനുഭവം. എല്ലാമലയാളമാസമകംനാളിലുംഎല്ലാവെള്ളിയാഴ്ചയുംപ്രസാദഊട്ട്നടത്തുന്നു. സേവാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനവും, സാമുഹ്യാരാധനയുംമാതൃസമിതി, മതപാഠശാലഎന്നിവയുംക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്‍റെകീഴില്‍പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നു. ഉദ്ദേശം 300വര്‍ഷത്തെപഴക്കമുണ്ട്ഈക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്‌. പ്രകൃതിക്ഷോഭംമൂലവുംമറ്റ്പലകാരണങ്ങളാലുംനശിച്ചുതുടങ്ങിയഈക്ഷേത്രം, ഏകദേശം 60വര്‍ഷംമുന്‍പ്‌പുനരുധ്ദാരണo നടത്തി. പിന്നീട് 1991ല്‍കേരളക്ഷേത്രസംരക്ഷണസമിതിഇത്ഏറ്റെടുക്കുകയും, ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്‍റെപ്രവര്‍ത്തനംനല്ലരീതിയില്‍നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ട്പോവുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു.
