Varuthini Ekadashi is carried out in the Krushnapaksha of Chaitramasa. This ekadashi is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his fifth avatar of Vamana. Significance of Varuthini ekadashi is explained to the Yudhishtira by Lord Krishna in the Bhavishya Purana on how the devotee gets Moksha by performing this Ekadashi. ಚೈತ್ರಮಾಸದ ಕೃಷ್ಣಪಕ್ಷದ ಏಕಾದಶಿಯನ್ನು ವರೂಥಿನಿ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ಏಕಾದಶಿಯು ಶ್ರೀಮನ್ಮಹಾವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ ವಾಮನಾವತಾರವನ್ನು ಕುರಿತದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ. ಭವಿಷ್ಯಪುರಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಯುಧಿಷ್ಠಿರನಿಗೆ ಭಗವದ್ಭಕ್ತರು ಮೋಕ್ಷಸಾಧನೆಯ ಹಾದಿಯನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಈ ಏಕಾದಶಿಯ ಆಚರಣೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
