About Temple

Pazhookkara is a place in between Mala and Chalakkudy. Guruthippala, a centre here in is merited by the presence of a glorious temple, the 14th one among the 108 temples installed by Lord Parashurama, i.e. Peroorkkavu durga temple. The Sub deity here is Bhadrakali in an equal status famed to be “Thekkekkavilamma”. The prathishta of “Poothan thevar”, also has an eminent place here as a sub deity. Almost in front side of the temple a Nagakavu is; Karinagam and Maninagam both are dwelling. The godly experience of the people connecting the Kovil is, they enjoy, ‘their off-springs are always safe and well protected by the god’. “Mangalya yogam” too is revealed here in high measure. At the time of Kingly rule, the Kaimals were in a prominent status, later it became Kodassery Karthas. At present this temple is well governed by the temple protection committee, this is its 2221st branch. Among trustees one must be from ‘Kodassery Padmalayam Madom’, it is a rule following and to be followed.

ചാലക്കുടിക്കും മാളയ്ക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ പഴൂക്കരയിലെ ഗുരുതിപ്പാലയില്‍ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നൂ,പരശുരാമാനാല്‍ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കപ്പെട്ട 108 ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിലെ പതിനാലാമാതായി വരുന്ന പേരൂര്‍ക്കാവ് ദുര്‍ഗ്ഗാ ക്ഷേത്രം.ഉപദേവതാ സ്ഥാനത്ത് തുല്യ ശക്തിയായി ഭദ്രകാളിയും (തെക്കെക്കാവിലമ്മ എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു) പൂത്താന്‍ തേവരും സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു.ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്‍റെ മുന്‍ഭാഗത്തായി സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന സര്‍പ്പക്കാവില്‍ കരിനാഗവും,മണിനാഗവും കുടി കൊള്ളുന്നു.സന്താന സംരക്ഷണവും മംഗല്യ യോഗവും ഭക്ത ജനങ്ങള്‍ അനുഭവിച്ചു വരുന്നു.രാജഭരണത്തിന്‍ സമയത്ത് കൈമള്‍മാര്‍ക്കും അതിനു ശേഷം കോടശ്ശേരി കര്‍ത്താക്കന്മാരുടെ ഊരഴ്മയിലും ഉള്‍പെട്ട ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം ഇപ്പോള്‍ കേരള ക്ഷേത്ര സംരക്ഷണ സമിതിയുടെ 2221-ശാഖയുടെ മേല്‍നോട്ടത്തില്‍ ദേവീഹിതങ്ങള്‍ ആചരിക്കുന്നു.ക്ഷേത്ര രക്ഷാധികാരികളില്‍ കോടശ്ശേരി പത്മാലയം മoത്തിലെ ഒരംഗത്തിന് സ്ഥാനമുണ്ട്.
