ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಭದ್ರಾವತಿ ನಗರದ ಓಲ್ಡ್ ಟೌನ್ ಬಡಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ನರಸಿಂಹ ದೇವಾಲಯ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪ್ರಾಚ್ಯವಾಸ್ತು ಇಲಾಖೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಎಂಡೋಮೆಂಟ್ ಮತ್ತು ರಿಲಿಜಿಯಸ್ ಇನ್ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಷನ್ಸ್ ಇಲಾಖೆಗಳ ಅಧೀನಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಸುಮಾರು ಎರಡು ಎಕರೆ ವಿಸ್ತೀರ್ಣವುಳ್ಳ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ.
ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀನರಸಿಂಹ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಮುಂಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಗರುಡಗಂಬವಿದೆ. ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಹೊರಸುತ್ತ ಗೋಡೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಹೊರ ಆವರಣದ ಬಲಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಅರಳಿ ಕಟ್ಟೆಯಿದ್ದು, ಅರಳಿಮರದ ಸುತ್ತ ನಾಗರಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಪೌರಾಣಿಕ ಮಹತ್ವ ಹಾಗೂ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಿದೆಯೆಂದು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಚೆನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿದ್ವಾನ್ ಉಭಯವೇದಿ ರಂಗನಾಥಶರ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸಶರ್ಮರವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು “ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ” ದೇವಾಲಯವೆಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗುವುದು. ಅಂದರೆ, ಮೂಲತಃ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಗೊಂಡನಂತರ ಅದರಸುತ್ತ ಪಟ್ಟಣನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಲಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಹೆಗ್ಗುರುತೆಂದು ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತಗಳು ನಿಗದಿಪಡಿಸಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

Sri Lakshminarasihmaswamy Temple, located at Old Town Extension in Bhadravathi of Shivamogga District is governed by Karnataka Archaeological Department as well as the Department of Religious Institutions and Endowment.
The temple lies on a two-acre plot. There is a Garudagamba in front of the temple, which is covered by a compound wall. There is an Aralikatte (Pipal Tree) on the right side, as one enters the main gate. Icons of Naga have been installed around the pipal tree. According to Vidwan Ubhayavedi Ranganathasharma, the chief priest, and Sri Srinivasa Sharma, Priest, Sri Lakshminarasihmaswamy Temple has puranic significance and historical importance. As specified in Tantrasara and other scriptures on temple construction, Sri Lakshminarasihma Temple at Bhadravathi is an “Independent” or “Swatantra” temple, which means that the temple was constructed first and it was followed by town construction.
