About Temple

Thaikkattussery in Chertala Taluk holds the prestige of the powerful Bhadrakali temple. Devi is in the peaceful form of Balabhadra. On the Revathi star day in the Malayalam month of Makaram ,Valiyavilakku and on the Aswathi star day Arattu and Thiruvulsavam are conducted every year. The Pongala festival in the Malayalam month of Meenam ,Aswathi star day and the Theeyuttu associated with Mandalavritam are famous.

ചേര്‍ത്തല താലൂക്കില്‍ തൈക്കാട്ടുശ്ശേരിയില്‍ ആണ് കരപ്പുറത്തെ പ്രധാന ഭദ്രകാളി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഭദ്രകാളിയാണ് ഇവിടുത്തെ പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. ഭദ്രകാളി യുടെ തന്നെ ശാന്തസ്വരൂപമായ ‘ബാലഭദ്ര’ യുടെ രൂപത്തിലാണ് ‘അമ്മ’ ക്ഷേതത്തില്‍ കുടി കൊള്ളുന്നത്. മകരമാസത്തിലെ രേവതി നാളില്‍ വലിയ വിളക്കും അശ്വതി നാളില്‍ ആറാട്ടുമായ തിരുവുത്സവവും നടത്തുന്നു. മീനമാസത്തിലെ അശ്വതിനാളില്‍ നടത്തുന്ന പൊങ്കാലയും മണ്ഡലവൃതത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് നടത്തുന്ന തീയ്യട്ടും വളരെ പ്രസിദ്ധമാണ്.
