Ananta Padmanabha Temple is located in Kunjibettu, at Paniyadi Village about 4.5 km from Udupi. Lord Anantha Padmanabha can be seen in the posture “Shayana Mudra” on Sheshasana at Anantha Padmanbha temple in Kerala. Lord Anantha Padmanabha can be seen in posture “Sthanaka Mudra” on Sheshasana at Anantha Padmanbha Temple at Peradoor in Karnataka. But here in Paniyadi, Lord Anantha Padmanabha can be seen in ”Asana Mudra” or “Seated Position” on Sheshasana. This feature highlights the uniqueness of this temple.
The temple administration is entrusted to Puthige Mutt, one of the Astha Mutt’s of Udupi. “Anantha Padmanabha Vratha” and Annual festivals of the deity are celebrated at a grand scale.
ಅನಂತ ಪದ್ಮನಾಭ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವು ಉಡುಪಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 4.5 ಕಿ. ಮೀ.ದೂರದ ಕುಂಜಿಬೆಟ್ಟು ಗ್ರಾಮದ, ಪಣಿಯಾಡಿ ಎಂಬ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಕೇರಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಂತ ಪದ್ಮನಾಭನು ಶೇಷಶಯನನಾದರೆ, ಪೆರಡೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತ ಅನಂತ ಪದ್ಮನಾಭ ಈ ಪಣಿಯಾಡಿ ಅನಂತ ಪದ್ಮನಾಭನು ಶೇಷಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವುದು ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ವಿಶೇಷ. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು, ಉಡುಪಿ ಅಷ್ಟಮಠಗಳಲ್ಲೊಂದಾದ ಪುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನವು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕೋತ್ಸವ ಮತ್ತು ಅನಂತ ಪದ್ಮನಾಭವ್ರತವು ಅತಿ ವೈಭವದಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ.
