The mutt of Sri Raghavendra Swamy at Nanjangud is at 25 km from the city of Mysuru. This Mutt is called as “prateeka sannidhaana” of Sri Rayaru because unlike other Mutts where the Brindavana of Sri Raghavendra Swamy has been established, a prateeka (idol) of Sri Rayaru has been consecrated here. The prateeka (idol) of Sri Guru Raayaru was found at Srirangapatna in the River Cauvery and was installed in the mutt at Nanjangud by Sri Sugnanendra Tirtharu. Here, one can also find the brindavanas of Sri Subodhendra Tirtharu, Sri Sujanendra Tirtharu, Sri Sujnanendra Tirtharu, Sri Suprajnendra Tirtharu and Sri Sukruteendra Tirtharu. This place is also called as Pancha brindavana Sannidana because of the presence of these brindavanas.
ಮೈಸೂರಿನಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 25 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಂಜನಗೂಡಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳ ಮಠವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಯರ “ಪ್ರತೀಕ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾನ” ವೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವೇನೆಂದರೆ, ಶ್ರೀರಾಯರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾನವೆನ್ನಿಸಿರುವ ಉಳಿದೆಲ್ಲ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಶ್ರೀರಾಯರ ಮೃತ್ತಿಕಾ ಬೃಂದಾವನವು ಮಾತ್ರ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು ನಂಜನಗೂಡಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಠದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಯರ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಶ್ರೀರಾಯರ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯು ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಿಯುವ ಕಾವೇರಿ ನದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೊರೆತದ್ದು. ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಜ್ಞಾನೇಂದ್ರ ತೀರ್ಥರು ಈ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ತಂದು ನಂಜನಗೂಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಿದರೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಬೋಧೇಂದ್ರ ತೀರ್ಥರು, ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಜನೇಂದ್ರ ತೀರ್ಥರು, ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಜ್ಞಾನೇಂದ್ರ ತೀರ್ಥರು, ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಪ್ರಜ್ಞೇಂದ್ರ ತೀರ್ಥರು ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಕೃತೀಂದ್ರ ತೀರ್ಥರ ಬೃಂದಾವನಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಐದು ಬೃಂದಾವನಗಳ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಪಂಚ ಬೃಂದಾವನ ಖೇತ್ರ ವೆಂದೂ ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.
