The temple is located at Hunasikere layout of the Hassan town and houses Lord Shaneshchara as the presiding deity. The smaller temples of Lord Sri Ananda Ganapati, Lord Sri Subramanya, Lord Sri Kashi Vishweshwara Swamy, Goddess Mangala Gowri, Navagraha and Lord Sri Anjaneya Swamy are also built in the temple premises.
Presently, the administration of the temple is looked after by the Hoysala Association of Karnataka of Hassan district. On Special occasions and every Amavasya, Homas are performed in the temple.
ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಹಾಸನ ನಗರದ ಹುಣಸಿನಕೆರೆ ಬಡಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ದೇವರು ಶ್ರೀ ಶನೀಶ್ವರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ. ಈ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನವಗ್ರಹ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳು, ಶ್ರೀ ಆನಂದ ಗಣಪತಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಬ್ರಮಣ್ಯ, ಶ್ರೀ ಕಾಶಿ ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಮಂಗಳಗೌರಿ ಹಾಗು ಶ್ರೀ ಆಂಜನೇಯ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವತೆಗಳ ಗುಡಿಗಳು ಸಹ ಇದೆ.
ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಆಡಳಿತವನ್ನು ಹಾಸನ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಹೊಯ್ಸಳ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಂಘವು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದೆ. ವಿಶೇಷ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗು ಪ್ರತಿ ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆಯಂದು ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ನವತಿಯಿಂದ ಶ್ರೀ ಶನೈಶ್ವರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಪೂಜೆ ಹಾಗು ಹೋಮಹವನಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
