An eminent Manthrikacharya, was dwelling in a famed ancient Mana in Kadavanthra whose favourite Moorthi was Devi Adiparashakthi. At a higher stage of his spiritual life he began to view and worship his Goddess in two prominent bhaavas, Durga and Bhadrakali. Now in the temple, these two deities are adorned in equal importance and prominence. കടവന്ത്രയില്‍ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്ന മഹാമാന്ത്രികനായ ഒരു കാരണവർ ആരാധിച്ചുപോന്ന ആദിപരാശക്തിയെ പിന്നീട് ദുർഗ, ഭദ്രകാളി ഭാവത്തിൽ സങ്കൽപ്പിച്ചു, തുല്യപ്രാധാന്യത്തോടെ കടവന്ത്ര ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ആരാധിച്ചു പോരുന്നു.
