ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನ ವೆಂಕಟರಮಣ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಅಗ್ನಿದೇವರಿಂದ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತವಾಯಿತು ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ೨೦೦ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಇತಿಹಾಸವಿದೆ. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಕೆತ್ತನೆ ದ್ರಾವಿಡ ಶೈಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಶಾಸನಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಇದು ಶತ ಶತಮಾನಗಳಷ್ಟು ಹಳೆಯ ದೇವಾಲಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಗೋಪುರವು ೫ ಅಂತಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಮದ್ಯದ ಮಂದಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನ ವೆಂಕಟರಮಣ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ನಿಂತಿರುವ ಭಂಗಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಮುಖ್ಯ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ದ್ವಾರದಿಂದ ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಧ್ವಜಸ್ತ೦ಭ, ಗರುಡ ಮಂಟಪ ಹಾಗೂ ವೆಂಕಟರಮಣ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಒಂದೇ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವಂತೆ ಭಾಸವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಗರುಡ ಮಂಟಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಗರುಡ ವಾಹನನಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನ ವೆಂಕಟರಮಣ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಮುಜರಾಯಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಗೆ ಸೇರಿದೆ. Sri Prasanna Venkataramana Swamy Temple is built in Dravidian architecture. This temple was installed by Agni deva and it has 2000 years of history. The inscriptions in Mysore records indicate that the temple is a few centuries old. The temple has a 5-tiered gopuram. The central shrine houses the image of Sri Prasanna Venkataramana Swamy in standing posture. From the entrance tower, the central shrine is located in the axis through the Dwajasthamba pillar and Garuda Mantapa. The image of Garuda, the eagle mount of Venkateshwara, is placed in the Garuda Mantapa, facing the image of the presiding deity. The temple is administered by the Department of Religious Endowment, Government of Karnataka.

ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವಂತೆ ಆಂದ್ರಪ್ರದೇಶದ ತಿರುಪತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರ ಕೈಗಳು ಕೆಳಮುಖವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಭಕ್ತರನ್ನು ಹರಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರ ಕೈಗಳು ಮೇಲ್ಮುಖವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಭಕ್ತರನ್ನು ಹರಸುತ್ತವೆ. In this temple, Lord Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy idol is showing an Abhayahastha (hand showing upwards as a blessing) whereas, in Tirupathi at Andhra Pradesh, Lord's hand is showing downwards. Hence, this is considered to be special.
