Years ago in an unfamiliar barren plot Sree Thalakkottaparambilamma was worshipped as a family deity. The Kotil Bhagavathi temple was worshiped by the Neduveli family who later handed over to Kerala Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi in the year 1978, which is now known as Sree Thalakkottaparambilamma temple. The temple was consecrated in the year 1984 in the holy hands of Matha Amrithananthamayi and the temple has reached to what we see this present day. വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുന്‍പ്‌ ആരാലും അറിയപ്പെടാതെ തട്ടകത്തെ പരദേവതയായി ആരാധിച്ചു പോന്നിരുന്ന ശക്തി ചൈതന്യമായിരുന്നു ശ്രീ തലക്കോട്ടപറമ്പിലമ്മ. നെടുവേലി കുടുംബ ത്തിന്‍റെ പരദേവതയായി നിലനിന്നിരുന്ന കോട്ടില്‍ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം 1978 ല്‍ കേരള ക്ഷേത്ര സംരക്ഷണ സമിതി ഏറ്റെടുക്കുകയും ശ്രീ തലക്കോട്ടപറമ്പിലമ്മ ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം എന്ന് അറിയപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു. 1984ല്‍ മാതാ അമൃതാനന്ദമയി ദേവിയുടെ തൃക്കരങ്ങളാല്‍ ശിലാസ്ഥാപനം നടത്തപ്പെട്ട ക്ഷേത്രം പിന്നീട് ഇന്നത്തെ നിലയിലേക്ക് എത്തപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു.
