This temple is about 200 years old. The temple’s background reveals that, many years ago villagers from Attur were travelling towards city to sell the cotton they had grown. While coming to the city, they had to stay in Dodda Banasawadi for a night with cotton stuffed bullock cart. When they tried to move on the next day, the bullock cart did not move at all for almost 2 days and the villagers were forced to stay in Dodda Banasawadi. On the 3rd day, the villagers and the elderly people of that area had a dream in the early morning wherein, Sri Anjaneya Swamy presented himself and told them that, he is in that bullock cart and asked them to take out his idol from the cotton load and consecrate the same. Accordingly, the villagers and other elderly people consecrated the idol in the same place where this temple is located now. This idol is about 5 feet in height with mangoes bunch in left hand that is made from saligrama Krishna rock and is seen in Veeranjaneya posture. The renovation work of this temple was carried out by Sri Mani Iyer with the construction of sanctum and navaranga having pradakshina path. As motivated by Sri Anjaneya Swamy, Lord Sri Rama’s idol along with Seetha Devi and Lakshmana idols measuring 1 ½ feet was consecrated in the temple. This lord is also known by the name Sri Kodanda Ramaswamy. In the outer yard of the temple, the idol of Sri Basaveshwara Swamy has been consecrated facing south. Around 1962, the renovation work of Vimana Gopura, sanctum sanctorum has been done. The construction work of a marriage/function hall is in progress. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಸುಮಾರು 200 ವರ್ಷದ ಹಿಂದಿನ ದೇವಾಲಯವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ಅಟ್ಟೂರು ಎನ್ನುವ ಗ್ರಾಮವಾಸಿಗಳು ಹತ್ತಿಯ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವ ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ಹತ್ತಿ ತುಂಬಿದ ಎತ್ತಿನ ಗಾಡಿಯು ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ, ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬಾಣಸವಾಡಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಕಾಲವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದು ಮರುದಿನ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಲು ಯತ್ನಿಸಿದರಂತೆ. ಆ ಚಕ್ಕಡಿ ಬಂಡಿಯು ಎತ್ತಲು ಅಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಎರಡು ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಆ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಕಳೆದರು. ಮೂರನೇ ದಿನ ಆ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರ ಹಾಗೂ ಊರ ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೆ ಬೆಳಗಿನ ಜಾವ ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಆಂಜನೇಯ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯು ದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ, ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಸ್ಥರ ಹತ್ತಿ ಬಂಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದೇನೆ. ಆ ಹತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಬೇರ್ಪಡಿಸಿ ಈ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಟಾಪಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸ್ವಪ್ನದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬಾಣಸವಾಡಿ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರು ಮತ್ತು ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಸ್ಥರು ಆ ಬಂಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಶ್ರೀ ಆಂಜನೇಯ ಶಿಲಾ ವಿಗ್ರಹವು ಕಂಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು. ಆ ನಂತರ ಈ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಈಗಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯು ಸುಮಾರು 5 ಅಡಿ ಎತ್ತರವಿದ್ದು, ಎಡ ಹಸ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾವಿನಕಾಯಿ ಗೊಂಚಲನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದಿದ್ದು, ವೀರಾಂಜನೇಯ ಭಂಗಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಸಾಲಿಗ್ರಾಮ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಶಿಲೆಯಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರು ಚಿಕ್ಕದಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ್ದ, ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀ ಮಣಿ ಅಯ್ಯರ್ ಎನ್ನುವವರು ಗರ್ಭಗೃಹ, ಶುಕನಾಸಿ, ಪ್ರದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಪಥದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿರುವ ನವರಂಗವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಇದೆ. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಆಂಜನೇಯ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪನೆಯಾಗಿ ಭಕ್ತರಿಂದ ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಶ್ರೀ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಕಾಲಾಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಆಂಜನೇಯ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಬಲ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮ ದೇವರ ಹಾಗೂ ಸೀತಾ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣ ಸಮೇತ ಸುಮಾರು 1 ½ ಅಡಿ ಎತ್ತರವಿರುವ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಟಾಪಿಸಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀಕೋದಂಡ ರಾಮ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಎನ್ನುವ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಹೊರ ಪ್ರಾಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಆಂಜನೇಯ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ, ಶ್ರೀಕೋದಂಡರಾಮ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವರ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಟೆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಗೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಸವೇಶ್ವರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಟಾಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಗಳು ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಸುಮಾರು 1962ರಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ದೇವಾಯದ, ವಿಮಾನ ಗೋಪುರ, ಗರ್ಭ ಗೃಹ ಹಾಗು ಮುಖ ಮಂಟಪಗಳ ಜೀರ್ಣೋದ್ಧಾರ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಮಂಟಪ ಕಟ್ಟಲು, ಕಟ್ಟಡ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
