The history tells, the Sree Hariharasutha temple was executed some 100 years ago. Beginning with a simple bhajana mutt, the temple was conventionally and ceremonially sacremented by the spiritual luminary Sri Nataraja Guru, the then Madadhipathi of Varkkala Sivagiri Matt. Later, under the renowned leading priesthood of Brahmasri Paravur Shredharan Thanthri, many renovations were there inside the temple including Dwajaprathishta. The participation of all the devotees visiting this temple has high prominence in the growth and boost up of the temple. ഏകദേശം ഒരു നൂറ്റാണ്ടോളം പഴക്കമുണ്ടു് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനു് എന്നാണു ചരിത്രം അവലോകനം ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ മനസ്സിലാക്കുവാൻ സാധിക്കുന്നതു്. ഒരു ഭജനമഠം മാത്രമായി തുടക്കം കുറിച്ച, പാലാരിവട്ടം ശ്രീനാരായണ ധർമ്മോദ്ധാരണ സംഘത്തിൻറെ അധീനതയിലുള്ള ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൻറെ ആദ്യ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ നടത്തിയതു വർക്കല ശിവഗിരി മടാധിപതിയായിരുന്ന ആദരണീയനായ നടരാജഗുരു സ്വാമികളാണ്. പിൽക്കാലത്തു പ്രമുഖ താന്ത്രികാചാര്യൻ ശ്രീ. പറവൂർ തന്ത്രിയുടെ മുഖ്യ പൗരോഹിത്യത്തിൽ ക്ഷേത്ര നവീകരണവും ധ്വജപ്രതിഷ്ഠയും വിധിയാം വണ്ണം നടത്തുകയുണ്ടായി. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തെ വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെയും ഔന്നത്യത്തിന്റെയും മാർഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്നതിൽ ഇവിടെ എത്തിച്ചേരുന്ന ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് ഭക്തജനങ്ങൾക്കും ശ്രീനാരായണീയ പ്രവർത്തകർക്കുമുള്ള പങ്ക്എടുത്തു പറയേണ്ടതുണ്ട്.
