Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mission Matha was established by Sri. Dattatreya Ramarao Parvatikar, a Veena Maestro and exponent of Nada Yoga. He was fondly called Veena Baba by his spiritual followers. Moola Mrittika Brindavan was consecrated by Sri Sri Sujayeendra Teertha SwamygaLavaru, the then seer of Mantralaya. His Holiness Sri Sri Sujayeendra Teertha Swamiji (1963-1986) was always known to foster knowledge and knowledge seekers. He was fond of Vedic Literature and spreading Hari Bhakti. Sri Subudhendra tirtharu, the present seer of Mantralaya, participates in the Varshikotsav Festival, the ‘Yearly Celebration’ at Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mission Matha. ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ಮಿಶನ್ ಮಠವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದವರು ಶ್ರೀ ದತ್ತಾತ್ರೇಯ ರಾಮರಾವ್ ಪರ್ವತೀಕರ್. ಇವರು ವೀಣಾ ವಾದಕರಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ, ನಾದಯೋಗವೆಂಬ ವಿಧಾನವನ್ನು ರೂಢಿಗೆ ತಂದವರು. ಇವರ ಅನುಯಾಯಿಗಳು ಶ್ರೀ ಪರ್ವತೀಕರ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ವೀಣಾಬಾಬಾ ಎಂದೇ ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಬೃಂದಾವನವನ್ನು ಮಂತ್ರಾಲಯದ ಮಠಾಧೀಶರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಶ್ರೀ ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಜಯೀಂದ್ರತೀರ್ಥ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳವರ ಅಮೃತಹಸ್ತದಿಂದ ನೆರವೇರಿತು. ಮಂತ್ರಾಲಯ ಮಹಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನದ ಪ್ರಸಕ್ತ ಪೀಠಾಧೀಶರಾಗಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀ ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಬುಧೇಂದ್ರತೀರ್ಥ ಶ್ರೀಪಾದಂಗಳವರು ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಗಳವರ ಮಿಶನ್ ಮಠದ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕೋತ್ಸವದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಕ್ತಜನರನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿ ಸಂತೈಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆ ಸುಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅನೇಕ ಪೂಜಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀ ಮಠದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

Dattatreya Rama Rao Parvatikar was a Hindu saint and sanyasi in India. Dattatreya Parvatikar lived in the premises of Badrinath Temple of The Himalayas. He was fondly called veena baaba by his spiritual followers. He was born as the second son of Professor Rama Rao Parvatikar and Vatsala Bai on 1916 at Guledgudda, near Badami. He was keenly interested in Indian classical music and was a maestro of rudra veena. He invented Dattatreya Veena and was fondly called also as "veena baba". He was a nada yogi and was an expert in sitar, vichitra veena, rudra veena and swarmandal. Alain Daniélou made recordings of his performances between 1950 and 1955 and presented it to the world audience. They are now part of a UNESCO project – UNESCO Collection of Traditional Music of the World. Sri Parvatikar’s performances have been telecast by Doordarshan Channel. He was an ardent worshipper of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy and always carried his own idol. It was a special image of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy seated on a throne with Goddess Lakshmi on the left lap and Prahlad on the right. In 1975, Dattatreya Parvatikar founded the Shri Raghavendra Mission in Bangalore. In his memory, a music concert is held every year at Gayan Samaj Bangalore. ಶ್ರೀ ದತ್ತಾತ್ರೇಯ ರಾಮರಾವ್ ಪರ್ವತೀಕರ್ ಅವರು ಸಂತರು ಹಾಗು ಹಿಮಾಲಯದ ಪರ್ವತದಲ್ಲಿ ಸನ್ಯಾಸಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದವರು. ಪರ್ವತೀಕರ್ ಅವರು ಹಿಮಾಲಯದ ಬದ್ರಿನಾಥ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿದ್ದರು. ಅನುಯಾಯಿಗಳು ಇವರನ್ನು ವೀಣಾ ಬಾಬಾ ಎಂದೇ ಗುರುತಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಶ್ರೀ ಪರ್ವತೀಕರ್ ಅವರು ಪ್ರೊ. ರಾಮರಾವ್ ಪರ್ವತೀಕರ್ ಹಾಗು ವತ್ಸಲಾಬಾಯಿ ದಂಪತಿಗಳ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಮಗನಾಗಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕರಾಜ್ಯದ ಬಾದಾಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗುಳೇದಗುಡ್ಡ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದರು. ಪರ್ವತೀಕರ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮೊದಲಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಸಂಗೀತದೆಡೆಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಒಲವಿದ್ದಿತು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂಗೀತಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ನಿಪುಣರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಇವರು ರುದ್ರವೀಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಾಧನೆಗೈದಿದ್ದರು. ಮುಂದೆ, ದತ್ತಾತ್ರೇಯ ವೀಣೆಯೆಂಬ ವಿನೂತನಶೈಲಿಯ ಸಂಗೀತ ಸಾಧನವನ್ನು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂಗೀತ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತರು. ನಾದಯೋಗಿ ಎಂದೇ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರಾದ ಪರ್ವತೀಕರ್ ಅವರು ಸಿತಾರ್, ವಿಚಿತ್ರವೀಣಾ, ರುದ್ರವೀಣಾ, ಸ್ವರ್ ಮಂಡಲ್ ಮುಂತಾದ ಸಂಗೀತ ಸಾಧನಗಳನ್ನು ನುಡಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ನುರಿತವರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅಲೈನ್ ಡ್ಯಾನಿಲೌ ಎಂಬ ಫ್ರೆಂಚ್ ಮೇಧಾವಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು ಶ್ರೀ ದತ್ತಾತ್ರೇಯ ರಾಮರಾವ್ ಪರ್ವತೀಕರ್ ಅವರ ವಾದನವನ್ನು ನಾದಮುದ್ರಣ ಮಾಡಿ ಪ್ರಪಂಚದೆಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಧ್ವನಿಮುದ್ರಣವು ಯುನೆಸ್ಕೊ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿದೆ. ಪರ್ವತೀಕರ್ ಅವರ ವೀಣಾ ವಾದನ ಮತ್ತು ಇನ್ನಿತರ ಸಂಗೀತ ಸಾಧನಗಳ ವಾದನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಲವು ಬಾರಿ ದೂರದರ್ಶನ ಛಾನೆಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಾರ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಶ್ರೀ ಪರ್ವತೀಕರ್ ಅವರು ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ನರಸಿಂಹಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ಅಖಂಡಭಕ್ತರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಶ್ರೀ ನರಸಿಂಹ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯು ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತು, ಎಡತೊಡೆಯಮೇಲೆ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀದೇವಿಯನ್ನೂ ಹಾಗು ಬಲಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಹ್ಲಾದನನ್ನು ಕುಳ್ಳಿರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಈ ವಿಗ್ರಹವು ನಯನಮನೋಹರ. ಅನುದಿನವೂ, ತಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಗೆ ಪೂಜೆಗೈದ ನಂತರವೇ ಇನ್ನಿತರ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರತರಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. 1975ರಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಪರ್ವತೀಕರ್ ಅವರು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಇಂದಿರಾನಗರದ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ಮಿಶನ್ ಮಠವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದರು. ಶ್ರೀ ದತ್ತಾತ್ರೇಯ ರಾಮರಾವ್ ಪರ್ವತೀಕರ್ ಅವರ ಸವಿನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಗಾಯನ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ವರ್ಷಂಪ್ರತಿ ಸಂಗೀತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನೇರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
