The Place Srirangpatna had the name of the Srirangapuri in the early ages later it got the name of Srirangapatna. The town is an island being surrounded by the river Cauvery. In this town there are temples of sriranganatha. Sri Lakshminarasimha, Sri Gangadhereshwara, Sri Jyothirmaheshwara and other small temples. Among them the main temple is that of Sri Ranganatha. The inner apartment of SriRanganatha temple was built in 817 A.D by a lady by name Hambi, of the class of dancers in the year 894 A.D. When a king of the Ganga dynasty was the ruler, a person by name Thirumalaraya got constructed the Navaranga mantap and the temple of Lord Thirumala(Srinivasa) at the left side portion of the great Mahadwara. In the year 1117 A.D when Sri Ramanuja came to this part after escaping from the chole country here a jain by name Hoysala Bittideva was the ruler, Sri Ramanuja got him converted to a Vaishnava and named him Vishnuvardhana. ಮಂಡ್ಯ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ ,ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಒಂದು ಪೌರಾಣಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದ ಯಾತ್ರ ಸ್ದಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಧಾಮ. ಹಿಂದೆ ಗಂಗರ, ಹೋಯ್ಸಳರ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಜಯನಗರ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಮೈಸೂರು ಅರಸರ ಹಾಗು ಹೈದರಾಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಟಿಪ್ಪು ಸುಲ್ತಾನರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜಧಾನಿಯಾಗಿ ಐತಿಹ್ಯ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದೆ. ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಒಂದು ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಧಾಮವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಪುರಾಣ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದ ಶ್ರೀರಂಗನಾಥ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯವರ ದೇವಾಲಯವಲ್ಲದೇ ಅನೇಕ ವಿಷ್ಣು ಹಾಗೂ ಈಶ್ವರ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳನ್ನೊಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಮೈಸೂರು ಅರಸರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಕೋಟೆ ಹಾಗು ಜನಾಬ್ ಹೈದರಾಲಿ ಹಾಗು ಟಿಪ್ಪು ಸುಲ್ತಾನರು ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ವಂಶಸ್ಧರುಗಳ ಸಮಾಧಿಗಳಿರುವ ಆಕರ್ಷಕ ಗುಂಬಜ್, ಹಾಗೂ ಟಿಪ್ಪು ಸುಲ್ತಾನರ ಬೇಸಿಗೆ ಅರಮನೆ (ದರಿಯಾ ದೌಲತ್ ಬಾಗ್ ) ಟಿಪ್ಪು ಸುಲ್ತಾನರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ದ ಖೈದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂದಿಸಿ ಇಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅನೇಕ ಡಂಜನ್ ಗಳು ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷರೋಂದಿಗೆ ಯುದ್ದ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಟಿಪ್ಪು ಸುಲ್ತಾನರು ಮಡಿದ ಸ್ದಳ. ಅತಿ ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ಗೋಪ್ಪುರಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಮಸೀದಿ ಇವೇ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಸ್ಮಾರಕಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಪ್ರತಿ ನಿತ್ಯ ರಾಜ್ಯ ನೆರೆರಾಜ್ಯಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ದೇಶ ವಿದೇಶಗಳಿಂದ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರನ್ನು ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದ ಗಂಜಾಂ ಶ್ರೀ ನಿಮಿಷಾಂಬ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಸಹ ಅತಿ ಭಕ್ತಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.

Srirangapatna, is one of the Historical Famous Tourist centre /place of Karnataka State which is situated at Mandya District, from Srirangapatna town about 2.5 km distance in basin of Cauvery River at Ganjam village. The famous Sri Nimishambha Temple existing, this Temple was constructed as per the Agamoktha system, idols were installed on the basis of Shivapanchayathan. Here Sri Nimishambhadevi, with Sreechakra Sri Moukthikeshwara Swamy and Sri lakshminarayana Swamy god`s idols of Surya Deva , Ganapathi, and Hunuman. During the period of 1578 to 1617 this Srirangapatna becomes the capital city of Mysore, during that period, Raja Wodeyar of Mysore installed Sri Nimishambhadevi, and constructed this Temple Background of formation of Sri Nimishambhadevi and speciality of Shreechakra. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮಂಡ್ಯ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಪುರಾಣ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಯಾತ್ರಾ ಸ್ಥಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿ ತಾಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಶ್ರಿರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ 3 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಜಾಂ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಕಾವೇರಿ ನದಿ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ನಿಮಿಷಾಂಬಾ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವಿದೆ. ಈ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ ಆಗಮೋಕ್ತ ರೀತ್ಯಾ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಶಿವಪಂಚಾಯತನ ಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂರ್ಯದೇವ, ಗಣಪತಿ, ಶ್ರೀಚಕ್ರಸಹಿತ ಶ್ರೀ ನಿಮಿಷಾಂಬಾ ದೇವಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಮೌಕ್ತಿಕೇಶ್ವರಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿನಾರಾಯಣ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವರುಗಳ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಗಳಿವೆ. ಕ್ರಿ.ಶ.1578 ರಿಂದ 1617 ರವರೆಗೆ ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣ ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ರಾಜಧಾನಿ ಆಗಿತ್ತು. ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ರಾಜಒಡೆಯರ್ ರವರು ಶ್ರೀ ನಿಮಿಷಾಂಬಾ ದೇವಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದರೆಂದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಚಿತ್ರಕಲಾ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀ ಎಸ್.ಆರ್.ರಾವ್ ಮತ್ತು ಬಿ.ವಿ.ಕೆ.ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿರವರು ಬರೆದ ಟ್ರಡಿಷನಲ್ ಪೇಂಟಿಂಗ್ ಆಫ್ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಎಂಬ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖವಾಗಿದೆ.

Sri Laxmijanardhana Swamy Temple is located in a 2 acre land area and a Rajagopura has been built for it. The temple has many sections like Vimanagopura, Garbhagruha (Sanctum Sanctorum), Sukhanasi, Navaranga etc. The Elephant, which was the royal emblem or insignia of the Gangas, can still be seen at the front of the temple. ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಜನಾರ್ದನಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಮಂಡ್ಯ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಸುಮಾರು ಎರಡು ಎಕರೆಗಳ ಜಮೀನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗಿರುವ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಗಂಗರ ಲಾಂಛನವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ರಾಜಗೋಪುರ, ವಿಮಾನಗೋಪುರ, ಗರ್ಭಗೃಹ, ಶುಕನಾಸಿ, ನವರಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಜನಾರ್ದನಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಒಂದು ಸುಂದರ ತಾಣವಾಗಿದೆ.
