Aathma Lingeshwara Temple Hanumantha Nagar in Mandya District Karnataka State.It is in 10 Km distance to Mandya City.The mound overlooks Mandya and Malavalli with sugarcane and the paddy crops spreading across. ಮಂಡ್ಯ ತಾಲ್ಲೋಕು ಗುತ್ತಲು ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀಅರ್ಕೇಶ್ವರಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಹನ್ನೇರಡನೇ ಶತಮಾನದ ಹಿಂದೆ ಚೋಳರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿರುವುದಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದೆ ಗೊಂಡಾರಣ್ಯ ಇದ್ದು, ಈ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿನಿತ್ಯವೂ ನೂರಾರು ಹಸುಗಳು ಬಂದು ಹುಲ್ಲುಸೊಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು. Sri Arkeshwara Swamy temple in the Gottalu village of Mandya Taluk, was built before the 12th century in the time of Cholas. This place was a dense forest before and hundreds of cows used to come here daily for grazing, in search of fresh food and grass. These cows belonged to the house of the Chief or Head of the Channapana Doddi village, which was about 1.5 kms from here.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮಂಡ್ಯ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಪುರಾಣ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಯಾತ್ರಾ ಸ್ಥಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿ ತಾಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಶ್ರಿರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ 3 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಜಾಂ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಕಾವೇರಿ ನದಿ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀನಿಮಿಷಾಂಬಾ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವಿದೆ. ಈ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ ಆಗಮೋಕ್ತ ರೀತ್ಯಾ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಶಿವಪಂಚಾಯತನ ಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂರ್ಯದೇವ, ಗಣಪತಿ, ಶ್ರೀಚಕ್ರಸಹಿತ ಶ್ರೀ ನಿಮಿಷಾಂಬಾ ದೇವಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಮೌಕ್ತಿಕೇಶ್ವರಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿನಾರಾಯಣ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವರುಗಳ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಗಳಿವೆ. ಕ್ರಿ.ಶ.1578 ರಿಂದ 1617 ರವರೆಗೆ ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣ ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ರಾಜಧಾನಿ ಆಗಿತ್ತು. ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ರಾಜಒಡೆಯರ್ ರವರು ಶ್ರೀ ನಿಮಿಷಾಂಬಾ ದೇವಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದರೆಂದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಚಿತ್ರಕಲಾ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀ ಎಸ್.ಆರ್.ರಾವ್ ಮತ್ತು ಬಿ.ವಿ.ಕೆ.ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿರವರು ಬರೆದ ಟ್ರಡಿಷನಲ್ ಪೇಂಟಿಂಗ್ ಆಫ್ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಎಂಬ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖವಾಗಿದೆ. Srirangapatna, is one of the Historical Famous Tourist centre /place of Karnataka State which is situated at Mandya District, from Srirangapatna town about 2.5 km distance in basin of Cauvery River at Ganjam village. The famous Sri Nimishambha Temple existing, this Temple was constructed as per the Agamoktha system, idols were installed on the basis of Shivapanchayathan. Here Sri Nimishambhadevi, with Sreechakra Sri Moukthikeshwara Swamy and Sri lakshminarayana Swamy god`s idols of Surya Deva , Ganapathi, and Hunuman. During the period of 1578 to 1617 this Srirangapatna becomes the capital city of Mysore, during that period, Raja Wodeyar of Mysore installed Sri Nimishambhadevi, and constructed this Temple Background of formation of Sri Nimishambhadevi and speciality of Shreechakra.

Basaralu Mallikarjuna temple is an excellent place for people interested in temple architecture. The Trikuta temple's main deities are Shiva, Suryanarayana, and Naga-Nagini. Naga-Nagini as a main deity is rare. The temple has exquisite Ramayana/Mahabharata/other carvings on the outside. The roof carvings inside are very good.

The Place Srirangpatna had the name of the Srirangapuri in the early ages later it got the name of Srirangapatna. The town is an island being surrounded by the river Cauvery. In this town there are temples of sriranganatha. Sri Lakshminarasimha, Sri Gangadhereshwara, Sri Jyothirmaheshwara and other small temples. Among them the main temple is that of Sri Ranganatha. The inner apartment of SriRanganatha temple was built in 817 A.D by a lady by name Hambi, of the class of dancers in the year 894 A.D. When a king of the Ganga dynasty was the ruler, a person by name Thirumalaraya got constructed the Navaranga mantap and the temple of Lord Thirumala(Srinivasa) at the left side portion of the great Mahadwara. In the year 1117 A.D when Sri Ramanuja came to this part after escaping from the chole country here a jain by name Hoysala Bittideva was the ruler, Sri Ramanuja got him converted to a Vaishnava and named him Vishnuvardhana.
