The highly advanced city in Kerala is Eranakulam. In a most crowded area of the city Pechi Amman Kovil is located. Later the road got the name of the kovil itself as Pechi Amman Kovil Road”. The temple is offering a tranquile atmosphere every time. Unlike other temples in Kerala, there are many sub deities in the Dravidian system of worship. Hence, Karuppu Swami, Madaswami, Arukola, Ghantakarnnan, Veerabhadran and Kappiri all are here. Nagadevatas also have been well enshrined. And Lord Siva is given a yoga peedam prathishta itself. A rarity is here everywhere, the temple is distinct and different in every sense. The daily pujas and offerings made the temple superfluous and meticulous; the splendor of Devi began to spread. Devi’s wedding ceremony, as Ammankoda, is felicitated every year, and it is the grand celebration of the temple. In the midst of city, the temple locates very near to the metro rail, KSRTC bus station and South-North Railway stations. The temple opens for the public by 5.00 AM up to 10:30 AM and in the evening from 5:30 to 8.00. കേരളത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വികസിതമായ നഗരം എന്ന വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കാവുന്ന എറണാകുളം പട്ടണത്തിൽ, ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൻറെ തന്നെ നാമധേയത്തിലുള്ള അമ്മൻകോവിൽ റോഡിലാണ് പേച്ചി അമ്മന്‍ കോവില്‍ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. നഗരമദ്ധ്യത്തിലാണ് ക്ഷേത്രമെങ്കിലും ശാന്തവും ഭക്തിസാന്ദ്രവുമായ ഒരന്തരീക്ഷം ക്ഷേത്രത്തെ വലയം ചെയ്യുന്നതു നമുക്കനുഭവപ്പെടും. നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകൾക്ക് മുൻപു തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലെ തിരുനെൽവേലിയിൽ നിന്നും ഇവിടെ എത്തിപ്പെട്ട വെള്ളാളപിള്ളമാർ നിർമ്മിച്ച ക്ഷേത്രമാണിതെങ്കിലും ഇന്ന്‍ ഭക്തജന പങ്കാളിത്തത്തോടെയുള്ള ഒരു ഭരണസമിതിയും അതിനു പിൻബലം നൽകുന്ന ഒരു ട്രസ്റ്റും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൻറെ അനുദിനകാര്യങ്ങൾ നിറവേറ്റുന്നു. കേരളത്തിലെ ക്ഷേത്ര ആചാരങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന്‍ വ്യത്യസ്ഥമായി ദ്രാവിഡക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളില്‍ വിവിധ തരം മറ്റ് ദേവതകളെ ആരാധിക്കുക പതിവുണ്ട്. അതിനാല്‍ തന്നെ കറുപ്പ്സ്വാമി, മാടസ്വാമി, അറുകൊല, ഘണ്ടാകർണ്ണൻ, വീരഭദ്രൻ, കാപ്പിരി മുതലായ ദ്രാവിഡ ദേവതകളും, ശ്രീ ഗണപതി, ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസ്, നാഗദൈവങ്ങളും ഉപദേവന്മാരായി ഇവിടെ ആരാധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട്. ഒപ്പം ഉചിതമായ രീതിയില്‍ യോഗപീഠ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയില്‍ ശിവ ഭഗവാനെയും ആരാധിക്കുന്നു. അങ്ങനെ എല്ലാ അര്‍ത്ഥത്തിലും ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം വ്യത്യസ്തവും പ്രത്യേകതകള്‍ നിറഞ്ഞതുമാണ്. എല്ലാ വര്ഷവും മേട മാസത്തില്‍ അത്യപൂര്‍വങ്ങളായ ആചാരാനുഷ്ടാനങ്ങളോടെ കൊണ്ടാടപ്പെടുന്ന അമ്മന്‍കൊട മഹോത്സവം (ഇത് ദേവിയുടെ വിവാഹച്ചടങ്ങായി ആചരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു) ആണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന വാര്‍ഷിക മഹോത്സവം. എറണാകുളം നഗരമധ്യത്തില്‍ KSRTC ബസ് സ്റ്റെഷന്റെയും സൌത്ത്-നോര്‍ത്ത് റെയില്‍വേ സ്റ്റെഷന്റെയും സമീപത്തായി സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത് കൊണ്ട് യാതൊരു വിധ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുകളുമില്ലാതെ ഏതൊരാള്‍ക്കും ക്ഷേത്ര ദര്‍ശനം സാധ്യമാണ്. ക്ഷേത്ര ദര്‍ശന സമയം രാവിലെ 5 മുതല്‍ 10.30 വരെയും വൈകിട്ട് 5.30 മുതല്‍ 8 വരെയും.
