Holy Scriptures state that lighting a lamp that burns on ghee ensures enhancement of knowledge, proper health and destruction of inability to acquire knowledge. ಸೇವಾ ಅವಧಿ : ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳಿಗೆ ಶ್ರೀ ವಾದಿರಾಜರು ತುಪ್ಪವನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಯ ಸಂಕೇತವೆಂದು ಹಾಗೂ ತುಪ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಯ ಸಾನಿಧ್ಯವಿರುತ್ತದೆಂದು ಬಣ್ಣಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಸದಾ ತುಪ್ಪದಿಂದ ಉರಿಯುವ ದೀಪವನ್ನು ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಹಚ್ಚುವುದರಿಂದ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವೃದ್ಧಿ, ಅಜ್ಞಾನ ನಾಶ, ಜ್ಞಾನಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಿಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಗಳು ಸಾರುತ್ತವೆ.
