There is a verse in the revered Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 2, Verse 47), which reads as

“Karmanye vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana”

Which translates to –

You are entitled to do your duty and action, but never to the results of your actions. This is a simple, effective and direct message from Lord Sri Krishna to the Mankind. One will find solutions to all life’s problems in Bhagavad Gita.

What is Koti Gita Lekhana Yajna?

Our Parama Poojya Sri Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji of Sri Puthige Matha has started a global ‘Magnus Opus’ called ‘KOTI GITA LEKHANA YAJNA’ during his ‘Paryaya’ at Udupi Matha.

As the name suggests, Koti Gita Lekhana Yajna is an initiative where over 1 Crore people from across the Globe are expected to write the entire Bhagavad Gita by hand in the language of their choice, over the next two years and offer it at the feet of Lord Sri Krishna at Udupi.

This initiative has no gender, age, religion, caste or creed.  All are welcome to participate in this initiative.

How Do I Participate in Koti Gita Lekhana Yajna?

What Do I need to Do?

All you need to do is, request for a Gita Shlokas book in the language of your choice and a Note book.  You can order this book at www.pureprayer.com, you will receive the books by post within a week’s time at your address.

After prayers and Sankalpa, you can start writing the Bhagavad Gita Shlokas (700 verses) one each per day or as per your convenience and in your language.

Price: Rs. 258 per Copy

What Do I do, once I complete writing the Shlokas?

You can either send the completed book with Shlokas to Udupi Matha address or you are welcome to submit the handwritten book at the Matha in-person at Udupi.

What Happens after I submit the Book?

Your Handwritten book will be blessed by Sri Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji and the book will be sent back as Sri Krishna Anugraha Prasada, to your address or you can collect it at the Udupi Matha.

What Do I do with the Book?

You can place this Sacred Hand Written book in your Puja room and worshipped by you and your generations to come.  You children and great grandchildren will cherish your Handwritten Bhagavad Gita book for generations.

Sri Puthige Matha in Udupi Sri Kshetra

Sri Puthige Matha is one of the Ashta Mathas of Udupi, founded by Sriman Madhwacharya, the proponent of Dwaitha Philosophy. The origin of the Sri Puthige Matha is located at Puttige Village in Hiriadka of Udupi District. According to the History Sri Sri Upendra Tirtha is the direct disciple of Sri Sri Madhwacharya. Sri Sri Upendra Tirtha is the founder of the mutt.

Sri Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Sreepadaru

Sri Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Sreepadaru is the 31st pontiff in the lineage of Sri Puthige Matha. He would be ascending the Sarvajna Peetha in the upcoming Paryaya of Udupi Sri Krishna Matha for the fourth time. He took the oath of Sannyasa at an age of 12 years in the year 1974.
