This 750 years old temple was under the Ambattu Mana. Under this Ambattu Mana, at one time, Sanskrit learning students, generally known to be ‘Othikkans’ , were staying here. Tippu Sultan’s disastrous Padayottam at one stage took everything to go down. The militants attacked even the Namboothiri women and made innumerable robberies. It all took the matters to another stage, the temple its ownership all went to the senior most of the ‘Kaliyath’ family. When those found it difficult, it was passed to another ‘Veliyil Karanavar’ of Thandaar Group, his name was ‘Kora’ and everything was vested with him. Veliyil Karanavar had a modern way of thoughts and thus he donated the temple and the connected assets to one Ezhava group in the area of Perumbalam, 114 years were passing. In the initial stage , the temple was known to be ‘Ezhava Samajam’. After 1964 it began to know as ‘Sree Narayana Vilasam Samaajam’. The first member of the Samajam was one ‘Chambanattu Makki Mesthiri’. By this time, to Puthenkavu Temple in Ernakulam, Sri Narayana Guru was making a visit and he could observe the power of Devi inside the temple. He chanted some invocations on an Elaneer and it was sent with a devotee. This Elaneer was taken to an Abhishekam in Pallippurathu Temple, which was a ‘Nimitham’ to overcome every ‘Doshas’, the consecration ceremonies everything were turning possible to complete. This is an ancient temple among Perumbalam divine centres and it was almost the ‘presiding temple’ itself in the big area, a unequalled resort to all. Later it turned to the present pilgrim centre, became the territory of calmness. 750 വര്‍ഷത്തിനുമേല്‍ പഴക്കമുള്ള ക്ഷേത്രം, സംസ്കൃതo പഠിച്ചുകൊ ണ്ടിരുന്ന ഓതിക്കന്മാര്‍ താമസിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന അമ്പാട്ട് മനയുടെ കീഴില്‍ ആയിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട് ടിപ്പുസുല്‍ത്താന്‍റെ പടയോട്ട കാലത്ത് പടയാളികള്‍ അമ്പാട്ട് മനയിലെ അന്തര്‍ജനങ്ങളെ ആക്രമിക്കുകയും അവരുടെ സ്വത്തുവകകള്‍ കവരുകയും ചെയ്തതോടെ, ക്ഷേത്രവകാശം കലിയത്ത് കുടുംബകാരണവരില്‍ നിക്ഷിപ്തമായി. പില്‍ക്കാലത്ത് ക്ഷേത്ര കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ അവരെക്കൊണ്ട് തുടര്‍ന്നുപോകാന്‍ സാധിക്കാതെ വന്നതില്‍ തണ്ടാര്‍വര്‍ഗ്ഗത്തില്‍പ്പെട്ട വെളിയില്‍ കാരണവരായിരുന്ന കോരയെ ക്ഷേത്രവും വസ്തുവകകളും ഏല്‍പ്പിച്ചു. പുരോഗമന ചിന്താഗതിക്കാരനായ വെളിയില്‍ കാരണവര്‍ പള്ളിപ്പാട്ട് ക്ഷേത്രവും വസ്തുവകകളും പെരുമ്പളത്തെ ഈഴവ വംശത്തിന് ദാന മായി കൊടുത്തു. 114 വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ പന്നീട് കഴിഞ്ഞു. ക്ഷേത്രം ആദ്യ കാലത്ത് ഈഴവ സമാജം എന്ന പേരിലാണ് അറിയപ്പെട്ടത്. എന്നാല്‍ 1964 മുതല്‍ ശ്രീ നാരായണ വിലാസം സമാജo എന്ന പേരില്‍ അറിയ പ്പെടാന്‍ തുടങ്ങി. ഈ സമാജത്തിന്‍റെ പ്രഥമ അംഗം ചമ്പനാട്ട് മാക്കി മേസ്തരിയാണ്. എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയില്‍ പുത്തന്‍കാവ്‌ ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ ശ്രീ ഗുരുദേവന്‍ വരുകയും പ്രതിഷ്ഠ സമയത്ത് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ദേവിയുടെ ശക്തി മനസിലാക്കുകയും, അവിടെനിന്ന് ഒരു കരിക്ക് ജ പിച്ചു ഒരു ഭക്തന്‍റെ കൈവശo കൊടുത്തുവിടുകയും, തുടര്‍ന്ന് പള്ളി പ്പാട്ട് ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ അഭിഷേകം നടത്തിയതിന്‍ ശേഷമാണ് പ്രതിഷ്ഠകര്‍ മ്മങ്ങള്‍ പൂര്‍ത്തിയാക്കുവാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞത്. പെരുമ്പളത്തെ അതി പുരാ തന ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളില്‍ ഒന്നാണിത്. പള്ളിപ്പാട്ട് ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം ഒരുകാലത്ത് പെരുമ്പളത്തെ ആബാലവൃദ്ധo ജനങ്ങളുടെയും മൂലകുടുംബസ്ഥാനമായി രുന്നു. പില്‍കാലത്താണ് പ്രാദേശികമായി പല ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളും ഉയര്‍ന്നു വന്നത്.
