The History behind the temple is that, few Thulu Brahmins from Mangalore (Karnataka) came over here during 1700 A.C. to do Poojas (Worships) and on request, the Ruler (King) of Kochi Kingdom (Kochi State/Nation) is allowed them to do Poojas of Lord Poornathrayeesan, the main Almighty of Kochi Royal family and Kochin Kingdom, in Poornathrayeesa Temple, nearby King’s Palace in Tripunithura. It was an award which the Ruler never had before, except to Kerala Brahmins!!! The King also provided them a house behind the temple for their convenient stay and daily “Thevaram” (routine “Karmas” of Brahmins according to their custom) and Poojas. They installed and started worships of Lord Venkiteswara, their favourite diety, and passing few months, devotees from the locality also came to give prayers and offers to the Lord and soon the Mandir became Venkiteswara Mandiram, the Temple of Sree Venkiteswara. വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുൻപ് മംഗലാപുരത്തു നിന്നും ഒരു കൂട്ടം തുളുബ്രാഹ്മണർ ഇവിടെ എത്തിപ്പെടുകയും സമീപത്തു തന്നെയുള്ള ദേശാധിപനായ ശ്രീപൂർണ്ണത്രയീശന്റെ പൂജാവിധികൾ നടത്തുവാനുള്ള മേൽശാന്തി, കീഴ്ശാന്തി സ്ഥാനമാനങ്ങൾ കൊച്ചി മഹാരാജാവു് അവർക്കു് കല്പിച്ചു നല്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. "പുറപ്പെടാശാന്തി"മാരായ അവർക്കു് കുലവാലായ്മാ വേളകളിൽ ആചാരപ്രകാരം സ്വഗ്രഹവാസം അനുവദനീയമല്ലാതിരുന്നതിനാൽ താമസത്തിനും മറ്റു തേവാരാദികൾക്കുമായി കൊച്ചി മഹാരാജാവു് അവർക്കു കനിഞ്ഞു നല്കിയ ആവാസ സ്ഥലമാണു് പിന്നീടു് തുളുബ്രാഹ്മണരുടെ ഇഷ്ടദേവനായ വെങ്കിടാചലപതിയുടെ പൂജയ്ക്കു വഴിയൊരുക്കുകയും ഇന്നു കാണുന്ന വെങ്കടേശ്വര മന്ദിരമായി പരിണമിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതു്.

The deity is reinstalled (Puna prathishta) by His Highness Uduppi Pejavar Madhaathipathi Sree Sree Visweswara Theerdha Swamiji (The main Swamiji of Eight Matts of Thulu Brahmins) years back and now thousands of devotees from all over India frequently visits and submits their worships at the foot flowers of Sree Venkiteswara. The Temple is now administerd by “Tripunithura Thulu Brahmina Yogam”, an individual association of Thulu Brahmins of the area. Sree Venkiteswara English Medium High School, one of the great blessing of Lord Venkiteswara, is fruitfully managing by Tripunithura Thulu Brahmina Yogam is became another milestone of their achievements and honest worships. അഷ്ഠമഠാധിപരിൽ പ്രമുഖനായ ഉഡുപ്പി പേജാവർ മഠാധിപതി ശ്രീ ശ്രീ വിശ്വേശ്വര തീർത്ഥ സ്വാമികളാൽ പുനപ്രതിഷ്ഠ നടത്തപ്പെട്ട ക്ഷേത്രം തുളുബ്രാഹ്മണരുടെ സംഘടനയായ "തൃപ്പൂണിത്തുറ തുളു ബ്രാഹ്മണയോഗ''ത്തിന്റെ (നേരത്തെ തൃപ്പൂണിത്തുറ ശിവള്ളി ദേശീയോഗം എന്നറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു) ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലാണ്. ഈ സംഘടനയാണ് പിന്നീടു് കേരള സംസ്ഥാനത്തിലെ തുളുബ്രാഹ്മണരുടെ സംഘടനയായ "ആൾ കേരള തുളു ബ്രാഹ്മിൺസ് ഫെഡറേഷ"ന് ബീജാവാപം ചെയ്തതു്. ഇന്ന് വെങ്കടേശ്വര സ്കൂൾ എന്ന വലിയൊരു വിദ്യാലയം ശ്രീ വെങ്കടേശ്വര മന്ദിരത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ചു് നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ടു്. ഗവണ്മെന്റംഗീകൃത ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് മീഡിയം ഹൈസ്കൂളാണ് ഈ സരസ്വതീ ക്ഷേത്രം.
