The Koikkal Panchadevi is one among the five temples in Veetoor, generally called as the 'Pancha Kshethras'. The five Mathru Bhava devi's, Saraswathi, SreeParvathi, Mahalakshmi, Raktheswari and Bhadrakali are consecrated in a single figment,a rareness not seen elsewhere. The Koikkal Temple,primarily considered a sub deity among the Pancha Kshethras, was washed away in a malignant flood, as remembered by the forefathers. Consequently,on resurrection, the Pancha Devi Temple was hove as the fifth prominent temple among the Pancha Kshethras. The Prabhu family residing over in the village initially had the full rights on the temple. Later on,eventually, was handed over to the natives and in the Malayalam era 1178,on the 18th day of Edavam, the re-consecration happened with daily poojas. In the mid-eighties, Kerala Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi took over the temple and is currently run by their governance. വീട്ടൂരിലെ പഞ്ചക്ഷേത്രങ്ങള്‍ എന്നറിയപ്പെടുന്നവയില്‍ ഒന്നാണ് കോയിക്കല്‍ പഞ്ചദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം. സരസ്വതീ, മഹാലക്ഷ്മീ , ശ്രീ പാര്‍വതി, രക്തേശ്വരി , ഭദ്രകാളി എന്നി അഞ്ച് ദേവിമാരെയും ഒരേ സങ്കല്പത്തില്‍ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള അപൂര്‍വ്വ ക്ഷേത്രമാണിത്. പണ്ട് പഞ്ചക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളില്‍, ഉപക്ഷേത്രമായി അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന കോയിക്കല്‍ ക്ഷേത്രം, പിന്നീട് സ്വതന്ത്ര ക്ഷേത്രമായി മാറി.കൊല്ലവര്‍ഷം 1178 ഇടവം 18 ന് പുനപ്രതിഷ്ഠനടത്തുകയും നിത്യപൂജകള്‍ ആരംഭിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഇപ്പോള്‍ കേരള ക്ഷേത്ര സംരക്ഷണ സമിതിയുടെ കീഴിലാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം.
