Sri Dodda Ganapati Temple is located on Bull Temple Road of Basavanagudi in southern part of Bengaluru in Karnataka. Sri Dodda Ganapati Temple is about four km away from Sri Kempegowda Bus Station and Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station. Sri Dodda Ganapati Temple has a long historical background as it was constructed by founder of Bengaluru Kempegowda I, who was a subordinate king of the Vijayanagar Empire. The temple is situated on a hillock called Bugle Rock. There is another famous temple called Sri Nandi or Dodda Basava temple in the vicinity. Every year, on the last Monday of Karteeka Masa in Hindu calendar, a three-day groundnut fair is conducted. As this temple is surrounded by many temples dedicated to different deities and is well-connected by public and private transport, a large number of tourists throng the place, every day. Of Karnataka. ಶ್ರೀ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗಣಪತಿ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಬಸವನಗುಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬುಲ್‌ಟೆಂಪಲ್‌ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಕೆಂಪೇಗೌಡ ಬಸ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಗೊಳ್ಳಿ ರಾಯಣ್ಣ ರೈಲು ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಗಳಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 4 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಶ್ರೀ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗಣಪತಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸ್ಥಾಪಕನಾಗಿರುವ ಮೊದಲನೇ ಕೆಂಪೇಗೌಡನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೆಂಪೇಗೌಡನು ವಿಜಯನಗರ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಟರ ಸಾಮಂತ ರಾಜನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಶ್ರೀ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗಣಪತಿ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಕಹಳೆ ಬಂಡೆ (ಬ್ಯೂಗಲ್‌ರಾಕ್) ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುವ ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಗುಡ್ಡದ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದು, ಇದರ ಸನಿಹದಲ್ಲೇ ಶ್ರೀ ದೊಡ್ಡನಂದಿ ಅಥವಾ ಬಸವನ ದೇವಾಲಯವಿದೆ. ಶ್ರೀ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬಸವನಗುಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷವೂ ಕಾರ್ತೀಕ ಮಾಸದ ಕೊನೆಯ ಸೋಮವಾರದಂದು ಕಡಲೆಕಾಯಿ ಪರಿಷೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಪರಿಷೆಯು ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಶ್ರೀ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗಣಪತಿ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಅನೇಕ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಗಳಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಹಾಗೂ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ಹಲವಾರು ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರು ಪ್ರತಿನಿತ್ಯವೂ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಶ್ರೀ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗಣಪತಿ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಮುಜರಾಯಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಆಡಳಿತದಲ್ಲಿದೆ.

This cave temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, is one of the oldest temples in Bengaluru. ಶ್ರೀ ಗವಿ ಗಂಗಾಧರೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ ಅಥವಾ ಗವಿಪುರಂ ಗುಹಾಂತರ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಹನುಮಂತ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಶಿವನಿಗೆ ಮೀಸಲಾಗಿರುವ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ತನ್ನ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅತ್ಯದ್ಭುತವಾದ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಚಕ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಡಮರು, ತ್ರಿಶೂಲ ಹಾಗು ಒಳಾಂಗಣದ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಎರಡು ಚಾಮರಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಸುವ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಏಕಶಿಲಾ ಕಂಬಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ.
