Navratri is a festival celebrated in the worship and dance of the Hindus . The Sanskrit term means nine nights. The nine nights and ten nights of the festival worship the nine forms of Shakti . During the first three days of Navratri, Devi is worshiped as Parvati, the next three days Lakshmi, and the last three days, Saraswathi pooja. ഹൈന്ദവരുടെ ആരാധനയുടേയും നൃത്തത്തിന്‍റെയും ഒരു ഉത്സവമാണ് നവരാത്രി. ഒൻപത് രാത്രികൾ എന്നാണ് ഈ സംസ്കൃത പദത്തിന്‍റെ അർത്ഥം. ഒൻപത് രാത്രിയും പത്ത് പകലും നീണ്ടു നിൽക്കുന്ന ഈ ഉത്സവത്തിൽ ശക്തിയുടെ ഒൻപത് രൂപങ്ങളെ ആരാധിക്കുന്നു. നവരാത്രി ദിവസങ്ങളിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ മൂന്ന് ദിവസം ദേവിയെ പാർവ്വതിയായും അടുത്ത മൂന്ന് ദിവസം ലക്ഷ്മിയായും അവസാനത്തെ മൂന്ന് ദിവസം സരസ്വതിയായും സങ്കൽപ്പിച്ച് പൂജ നടത്തുന്നു.
