About Temple

At Ernakulam a central part of Kerala, near the Town hall and Ernakulam North Railway station, centuries’ old Sree Paramara Devi temple situates. Parampanarkulangara Bhagavathi, as well famed to be Paramara Devi, believed to be Kodungallooramma herself. Among Kali temples of Kerala, Kodungallooramma is honoured to be the mooladevatha. Kodungallooramma was appearing in a different bhava as Alunkal bhagawathi and this idol is believed to be growing still. She was entering into the temple vehemently. Devi temples facing the northern side are very few in Kerala Bhadrakali in her Ugrabhava, here facet to the northern end. The Vaidik system says, Kali when faces the northern side itself gives her a fierce form, Kodum Kali, a splendid unique bhava. Other than the main deity of Bhadrakali, Sri Mahavishnu, Sri Sivan, Sri Ayyappan, Brahmarakshas, Nagaraja & Nagayakshi, Alunkal Bhagawathi are all sub deities herein. As the temple is situated in the heart of the metro city, people can reach the temple far easily. The temple is open for public every day and the visiting timings are 05:00 to 10.30 and 5:00 to 8.00 in the morning and evening respectively.

മദ്ധ്യകേരളത്തിലെ എറണാകുളം നഗരത്തിന്റെ വടക്കേയറ്റത്തായി ടൗൺഹാളിന്റെ നേരെ എതിർവശത്തായിട്ടാണ് പരമാരദേവിക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. വടക്കോട്ട് ദർശനമരുളുന്ന ദേവീ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ കേരളത്തിൽ താരതമ്യേന വിരളമാണ്. അതിപുരാതനമായ പരമാരക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഉഗ്രപ്രതാപിണിയായ ശ്രീഭദ്രകാളി വടക്കോട്ട് ദർശനമായിരുന്നു അനുഗ്രഹം നൽകുന്നു എന്നത് ഇവിടുത്തെ പ്രത്യേകതയാണ്. പരമ്പനാർകുളങ്ങര ഭഗവതിയെന്നും പരമാരമുത്തിയെന്നും വളരെ വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പ് അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന ഇവിടുത്തെ ഭഗവതി കൊടുങ്ങല്ലൂരമ്മയാണെന്നും, ആലുങ്കല്‍ ഭഗവതി രൂപത്തില്‍ വളരുന്ന വിഗ്രഹമായി കിഴക്കേ ആല്‍ത്തറയില്‍ എഴുന്നള്ളി എത്തിയതാണെന്നും പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. കൊടുങ്ങല്ലൂരമ്മയെ കേരളത്തിലെ കാളീ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളുടെ മൂലദേവതയായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. രക്തബീജാസുരവധത്തിനായി ശ്രീമഹാദേവന്റെ തിരുനേത്രത്തിൽ പിറവി കൊണ്ട ഭദ്രകാളി വടക്കോട്ടിരുന്നാല്‍ കൊടും കാളിയുടെ ഉഗ്രതയണിയുമെന്നാണ് വൈദികമതം. പ്രധാനപ്രതിഷ്ഠയായ ശ്രീഭദ്രകാളിയെ കൂടാതെ ശ്രീമഹാവിഷ്ണു, ശ്രീഗണപതി, ശ്രീഅയ്യപ്പൻ, ശ്രീശിവൻ, ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസ്, നാഗരാജാവ്, നാഗയക്ഷി, ആലുങ്കൽഭഗവതി എന്നീ ഉപപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളുമുണ്ട്. എറണാകുളം മെട്രോ സിറ്റിക്ക് അകത്ത് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രമായതിനാല്‍ വളരെയെളുപ്പം ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെത്തി ദര്‍ശനം നടത്താവുന്നതാണ്. ദര്‍ശന സമയം രാവിലെ 5 മുതല്‍ 10.30 വരെയും വൈകിട്ട 5 മുതല്‍ 8 മണി വരെയും.
