About Temple

A Chathurbhahu Lord Vishnu is in consecration but the poojas all go to Lord Krishna, is a rarity in a temple at Perumbalam village in Cherthala Thaluk of Aleppey district. The sub deities are Lord Siva, Sri Ganapathy, Goddess Bhadrakalee and Sri Dharma Shastha, all installed in places connecting the sanctorum. The presiding Deity is Bhaghavan Sri Krishna. The villagers like to believe Krishna is everything behind the auspicious growth and welfare of the whole area, and hence the inhabitants of large surroundings invoke their Lord all the time. After Nirmalyam, there are totally five poojas – Usha Pooja, Ethirthu Pooja, Pantheeradi Pooja , Utcha Pooja and Athazha Pooja – with Seeveli three times. Every day these all poojas are going well. A eight day grand festival comes to an end by the Thiruvonam Aarattu in Meena masam.

കരനാഥനായി വാണരുളുന്ന ശ്രീ കൃഷണ ഭഗവാന്‍ ഈ ഗ്രാമത്തിന്‍റെ തന്നെ ഐശ്വര്യവര്‍ത്തിയായി കരുതപ്പെടുകയും, ഗ്രാമവാസികള്‍ ഒന്നടങ്കം ആരാധിച്ചു വരുന്നു. നിര്‍മാല്യ ദര്‍ശനത്തിനു ശേഷം 5 പൂജയാണ് വിധിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത് [ ഉഷപൂജ, എതിര്‍ത്തുപൂജ, പന്തീരടിപൂജ, ഉച്ചപൂജ, അത്താഴപൂജ ] മൂന്ന്‍ ശീവേലിയോടുകൂടി ദൈനംദിനം ഈ പൂജകള്‍ നടത്തിവരുന്നു. മീനമാസത്തിലെ തിരുവോണo ആറാട്ടോടുകൂടി 8 ദിവസത്തെ ഉത്സവാഘോഷം വളരെ ഗംഭീരമായി നടത്തിവരുന്നു.
