ആലുവ മഹാക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നിന്നും ഏകദേശം മൂന്നു കിലോമീറ്റർ പടിഞ്ഞാറായും തിരുവാലൂർ മഹാദേവക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നിന്നും മൂന്നു കിലോമീറ്റർ കിഴക്കുമായും ഒരേ രേഖയിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് കടുങ്ങല്ലൂർ ശ്രീ നരസിംഹ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം. കടുങ്ങല്ലൂർക്കര,തോട്ടക്കാട്ടുകര,ഏലൂക്കര, കയന്റിക്കര തുടങ്ങി കടുങ്ങല്ലൂർ ദേവസ്വം വക ഭൂമിയാണ് ഈ കരയിൽ ഉള്ളതെല്ലാം. അതിനാൽ തന്നെ മേൽപ്പറഞ്ഞ കലകളുടെ ദേശാധിപത്യമുള്ള ക്ഷേത്രമാണിത്. മതിൽക്കകത്ത് യാതൊരു ഉപദേവന്മാരുമില്ലാതെ ഏക ഛത്രാധിപതിയായി, സർവാഭീഷ്ടപ്രധാനിയായി വാണരുളുന്ന ദേവനാണ് നരസിംഹമൂര്‍ത്തി എന്നതും ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ ഒരു പ്രത്യേകതയാണ്. മീനമാസത്തിലെ അവസാന ദിവസം വൈകിട്ട് കൊടി കയറി, മേടം ഒന്നിന് വിഷുക്കണി കണ്ടതിന് ശേഷം ഉത്സവം തുടങ്ങുന്നു. 8-)o നാൾ ആറാട്ട്. സ്വന്തം ഭൂമിയിൽകൂടി മാത്രം നടന്നു അന്യഭൂമിയിൽ ചവിട്ടാതെയാണ് ആറാട്ട് നടത്തുക. ഉത്സവദിവസങ്ങളിൽ ഊരാണ്മ ഗൃഹങ്ങളിലേക്ക് അഹസ്സിനെഴുന്നള്ളിപ്പും പറയെടുപ്പും നടക്കും. മാവൽശ്ശേരി മന , മുല്ലപ്പിള്ളി മന, എലപ്പിള്ളി മന, മാവേലിമന തുടങ്ങിയ ഊരാണ്മക്കാരുടെ ഇല്ലങ്ങൾ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ തൊട്ടടുത്ത് തന്നെയാണ്. തിരുവാലൂർ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ആറാടിവരവും കൊടിപ്പുറത്തുവിളക്കും ഏഴു ദിവസത്തെ ഉത്സവവും വിശേഷമാണ്.
