At Palliankara, a near place to Kalamassery in Ernakulam district, Kavungal kavu durga bhagawathi temple locates. This marvelous temple has both Durga and Bhadra as main Deities. Lord Mahadeva and Nagas shower blooming blesses all over.
The exact heir of the Palliankara desham was a Menon family connected with Edappally swaroopam. Upto 1976, when the Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi took over this temple, it was all under this Edappalli regency. The committee bearing their register number as 76/355 still carries on the administration side and the daily puja everything. As an embodiment of serenity the Devi’s blessings take many girls and women to happy married life and many sick unhealthy people to a rejuvenated lifestyle again. Many devotees perform Pushpanjali to Devi and those clarify the accomplishments of their pujas and prayers before their dearest god. Mass invocation programs which later became very popular were coming to being here, far earlier.

എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയില്‍ കളമശ്ശേരിയില്‍ പള്ളിലാംകര എന്ന സ്ഥലത്താണ് കാവുങ്ങല്‍കാവ് ശ്രീ ദുര്‍ഗ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്.ഈ മനോഹരമായ കാവില്‍ ദുര്‍ഗ്ഗാ ദേവിക്കും ഭദ്രാദേവിയ്ക്കും തുല്യ പ്രാധാന്യമാണ് ഉള്ളത്.കൂടാതെ മഹാദേവനും സര്‍പ്പവും ഉപദേവതകളായും ഇവിടെ അനുഗ്രഹം ചൊരിയുന്നു.
പള്ളിലാംകര ദേശത്തിന്‍റെ തന്നെ അവകാശി എന്ന് പറയുന്നത് ഇടപ്പള്ളി സ്വരൂപം മേനോന്‍ ആയിരുന്നു.ക്ഷേത്ര സംരക്ഷണ സമിതി 1976 ല്‍ ഏറ്റെടുക്കുന്നത് വരെ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം ഇടപ്പള്ളി സ്വരൂപത്തിന്‍റെ കീഴിലായിരുന്നു.ക്ഷേത്ര സംരക്ഷണ സമിതി (രജി.നം.76/355) യുടെ മേല്‍നോട്ടത്തില്‍ ദേവാരാധനകള്‍ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു.
കാവുങ്ങല്‍ ദേവിയുടെ പ്രസാദത്താല്‍ നിരവധി പെണ്‍കുട്ടികളുടെ വിവാഹങ്ങളും,അസുഖബാധിതര്‍ക്ക് സുഖമാവുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന അനുഭവങ്ങള്‍ ധാരാളം.ദേവിക്ക് പൂമൂടല്‍ അഭീഷ്ടകാര്യം സാധിച്ചതിന്‍റെ ഉപകാരസ്മരണയായിട്ട് വഴിപാടായി സമര്‍പ്പിക്കാറുണ്ട്.സാമൂഹ്യാരാധന തുടങ്ങിവച്ചത് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലാണ്
