About Temple

Kadungalloor Sri Bhuvaneshwari Temple is located at Kadungalloor, near Aluva in Ernakulam district. The renowned Devi Puja here is said to be some 800 years old. Humbly beginning with and proceeding through an invidiual, reaching at ‘Devi Puja’ was making a far-reaching result, the opening up of a Devi temple. The Sub deities Lord Ganapathi, Lord Sri Ayyappan, Lord Subrahmanyan, Lord Dhanvanthari, Lord Sri Hanuman, Lord Sivan, Nagayakshi, Nagaraja, Bramharakshas, Sree Veerabhadra, Kappiri, Ghantakarnan, Swapnayakshi, Vishwayakshi and Vadayakshi are enshrined here ceremonially.
Every year in the month of Meenam, on Thiruvonam star day, the temple flag is hoisted, announcing the Thiruvuthsavam, the annual festival. The fest ends by Aarattu on Rohini star day. In addition, every Tuesday is ceremonially practiced to be spiritual and divine. Hundreds of people mostly women join together on this day. The temple leads special pujas and mass offerings. It is a firm belief here, a devotee partaking and continuing in this puja successfully for 21 Tuesdays, is proposed with high results exactly, Abheeshtakarya Prapthi. The time of visits into the temple is 5.00 to 10.00 AM in the morning and in the evening 5 to 8PM. But on Tuesdays and Fridays, it is morning 5.00 to 12 Noon.

എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയിലെ ആലുവയ്ക്ക് അടുത്തുള്ള കടുങ്ങല്ലൂരിലെ പ്രധാനമായ ഈശ്വരാരാധനാ കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് കിഴക്കേ കടുങ്ങല്ലൂർ ശ്രീ ഭുവനേശ്വരി മഹാദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം. ഇവിടുത്തെ ദേവീ ഉപാസനയ്ക്ക് ചുരുങ്ങിയത് 800 വർഷത്തെയെങ്കിലും പഴക്കമുണ്ട്. വ്യക്തിയിൽ നിന്നും തുടങ്ങിയ ദേവീപൂജ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ പിറവിക്കായ് വഴി തുറക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. സ്ഥലധികാരികാരികളായി വർത്തിക്കുന്നത് നാഗരാജാവും , നാഗയക്ഷിയുമാണ്. പ്രധാനപ്രതിഷ്ഠയായ ഭുവനേശ്വരി ദേവിയ്ക്കൊപ്പം ഗണപതി, അയ്യപ്പൻ, സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യൻ , ധന്വന്തരി, ഹനുമാൻ, ശിവൻ ,ബാലഭദ്ര, മുത്തപ്പനാര് , വീരഭദ്രൻ, കാപ്പിരി, ഘണ്ടാകർണ്ണൻ, സ്വപ്നയക്ഷി, വിശ്വയക്ഷി, വടയക്ഷി, നാഗയക്ഷി, നാഗരാജാവ്, ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസ്സ് എന്നീ ഉപദേവതകളും ക്ഷേത്ര ചൈതന്യ വര്‍ദ്ധകരായി അനുഗ്രഹവര്‍ഷം ചൊരിഞ്ഞ് നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു. എല്ലാ വര്‍ഷവും മീനമാസത്തിലെ തിരുവോണത്തിന് കൊടി കയറി രോഹിണി നാളില്‍ ആറാട്ടോടു കൂടി സമാപിക്കുന്ന തിരുവുത്സവമാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന വാര്‍ഷികാഘോഷം. എല്ലാ ചൊവ്വാഴ്ചയും ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ വിശേഷദിവസമായി ആചരിച്ച് വരുന്നു. അന്നേ ദിവസം നൂറ് കണക്കിന് ഭക്തര്‍, പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് സ്ത്രീ ജനങ്ങള്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്ന വിശേഷാല്‍ പൂജകളും സമൂഹാര്‍ച്ചനയും ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ നടത്തപ്പെടുന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ തുടര്‍ച്ചയായി 21 ചൊവ്വാഴ്ചകളില്‍ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെത്തി വഴിപാടു കഴിച്ചാൽ അഭീഷ്ട കാര്യപ്രാപ്തി ഉണ്ടാകുമെന്നാണ് വിശ്വാസം. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ ദർശന സമയം, രാവിലെ 5 മണി പത്ത് മണി വരെയും, വൈകിട്ട് 5 മുതല്‍ 8 മണി വരെയും. എന്നാല്‍ ചൊവ്വ വെള്ളി ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് 12 മണിക്ക് ശേഷമായിരിക്കും ഉച്ചപൂജ
