About Temple

Sree Agasthyasram Temple complex was coming to being in the year 1991 at Thrippunithura-Kurikkad in Ernakulam District. It is the only temple in Kerala enriched by the main consecration of Rishi Agasthya, a luminary in Siddhavaidya. There are temples in Kerala wherein Rishi Agasthya and Lopamudra are together and Rishi Agasthya alone enshrined to be a sub deity. But in Sree Agsthyasramam, Rishi Agasthya is the main deity and Devi Lopamudra, as a sub deity. Once Lord Siva, was coming to a rare ‘infinite Bhava’, a joint embodiment of both to learn and teach forever i.e. Guru Dakshinamurthy, have also been consecrated here. On his both sides Lord Muruga, Sage Bharadwaja, Athri-Anasuya, Devi Arundhathi-Vasishta, Lopamudra, Narada Brahmarshi, Sage Markandeya, Aishwarya Mahalakshmi, Dhanvanthari Murthi, Sage Bhrugu, Sri Ganapathi, are all enshrined. And Nagadevathas, Karyasiddhi Anjaneyan & Brahmarakshas too are well installed inside the temple complex. In this temple, every year there are two prominent festive days. Prathishta Dinam is celebrated on Thiruvathira day in the month of Dhanu. The other festive day is Agasthyasramam Acharyan Sri Sudheer Vaidyar’s Samadhi dinam on the 5th of February of every year. Sri Agasthyashramam situates only 15 KM away from Ernakulam town and a kilo meter from Puthiyakavu junction at Ernakulam-Vaikom highway. Hence it is very easy to reach the temple either by Autoriksha, Car or Bus. The Temple timings are: 05:30 AM – 10:30 AM and 05:00 PM to 07:30 PM.

സിദ്ധവൈദ്യ ജ്ഞാനോപജ്ഞാതാവായ ശ്രീ അഗസ്ത്യമുനിയുടെ പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠയാൽ ധന്യമായ, കേരളത്തിലെ ഒരേയൊരു ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയിലെ തൃപ്പൂണിത്തുറ-കുരീക്കാടുള്ള ശ്രീ അഗസ്ത്യാശ്രമം. 1991-ലാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥാപിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്. അഗസ്ത്യമുനീ – ലോപമുദ്രാ സംയോജിത പ്രതിഷ്ഠകളും അഗസ്ത്യർ ഉപപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളുമായ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങള്‍ വേറെയുമുണ്ടെങ്കിലും അഗസ്ത്യമുനി പ്രധാന ദേവനും ലോപാമുദ്ര ഉപപ്രതിഷ്ഠയുമായുള്ള ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം കേരള സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് ആദ്യത്തേതാണ്. ഇത് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ കാലിക സവിശേഷതയ്ക്കുമപ്പുറമെത്തുന്ന ചരിത്രപരമായ പ്രാധാന്യം കൂടി വിളിച്ചോതുന്നു. സിദ്ധവൈദ്യവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ആചാര്യ ഗുരുക്കന്മാരുടേയും ദേവതകളുടേതുമായി 13 ശ്രീകോവിലുകള്‍ ഈ ക്ഷേത്ര സമുച്ചയത്തില്‍ നിര്‍മ്മിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. പരമശിവഭഗവാന്റെ ആദിഗുരു ദക്ഷിണാമൂർത്തി ഭാവത്തിലുള്ള പ്രതിഷ്ഠയുള്ള ശ്രീകോവില്‍, അതിന്റെ ഇരുവശങ്ങളിലുമായി ഭരദ്വാജ മാമുനി, ഭൃഗുമഹർഷി, അത്രി-അനസൂയ, ധന്വന്തരി മുനി, ഔഷധഗണപതി, ശ്രീ ജ്ഞാനമുരുകൻ, ലോപാമുദ്രാ ദേവി, മാർക്കണ്ഡേയൻ, നാരദബ്രഹ്മർഷി, സൗഭാഗ്യ മഹാലക്ഷ്മി എന്നിവയാണവ. അതോടൊപ്പം തന്നെ കാര്യസിദ്ധിഹനുമാൻ, ബ്രഹ്മരക്ഷസ്, നാഗങ്ങള്‍ എന്നീ ഉപദേവതകളെയും ഉത്തമമായ രീതിയില്‍ തന്നെ ഇവിടെ പ്രതിഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇങ്ങനെ വൈവിധ്യവും പ്രത്യേകതകളും ഉള്ളതുമായ ദൈവിക സാന്നിധ്യത്താല്‍ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടതാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്ര സമുച്ചയം. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ പ്രധാനമായും രണ്ട് വാര്‍ഷികാഘോഷങ്ങളാണ് ആചരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത്. ധനുമാസത്തിലെ തിരുവാതിര ദിനത്തിലെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠാദിനവും, ഫെബ്രുവരി 5ന് ശ്രീ അഗസ്ത്യാശ്രമം ആചാര്യനും സ്ഥാപകനുമായ സുധീര്‍ വൈദ്യന്റെ സമാധി ദിനവും. എറണാകുളം നഗരത്തില്‍ നിന്ന്‍ ഏകദേശം 15 കിലോ മീറ്റര്‍ ദൂരത്തിലും, ഏറണാകുളം-വൈക്കം ഹൈവേയിലുള്ള പുതിയകാവില്‍ നിന്നും 1 കിലോ മീറ്റര്‍ ദൂരത്തുമായി സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലേക്ക് ഓട്ടോറിക്ഷ, കാര്‍, ബസ് എന്നീ വാഹനങ്ങളിലേതിലെങ്കിലുമായി എളുപ്പത്തില്‍ എത്തിച്ചേരാവുന്നതാണ്.
