About Temple

Sri Amriteshwari Temple is situated in the Kota village just 20 meters away from the National Highway 66. The three Svayambhoo Shivalingas that have formed in the Prakara around Sanctum Sanctorum of the temple are unique and not found anywhere. An old tradition still prevails among the devotees in the nearby 14 villages to offer worship, when a child is born in their family. Belakina Seve, Thulabhaara seve and applying oil to the Linga are important sevas here.

The temple is administered by Muzrai Department of Government of Karnataka.

ಶ್ರೀ ಅಮೃತೇಶ್ವರಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವು ರಾಷ್ರಿಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ 66 (ರಾ.ಹೆ.17)ರ ಕೋಟ ಎನ್ನುವ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಿಂದ ಕೇವಲ 20 ಮೀಟರ್ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆ. ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಗರ್ಭಗುಡಿಯ ಹೊರಭಾಗದ ಪ್ರಾಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ 3 ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಯಂಭೂ ಲಿಂಗಗಳು ವಿಶೇಷವೆಂದೂ, ದೇಶದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದೂ ಹೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಂತಾನ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಿಗಾಗಿ ದೇಶದ ಬಹುಭಾಗಗಳಿಂದ ಭಕ್ತಾದಿಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. “ ಬೆಳಕಿನ ಸೇವೆ “ (ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನ ಬಯಲಾಟ) ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ವೈಶಿಷ್ಟ್ಯ. ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಮುಂಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ವರುಣ ತೀರ್ಥ ಎಂಬ ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ ಕೆರೆ ಇದೆ. ಕೋಟದ ಸುತ್ತಲಿನ 14 ಗ್ರಾಮದವರು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಪ್ರಥಮವಾಗಿ ಈ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಪೂಜೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಹೋಗುವ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಇದೆ. ಬೆಳಕಿನ ಸೇವೆ, ತುಲಾಭಾರ ಸೇವೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಶಿವಲಿಂಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಹಚ್ಚುವ ಸೇವೆಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಸೇವೆಗಳಾಗಿವೆ.

ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಮುಜರಾಯಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಆಡಳಿತಕ್ಕೊಳಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ.
