Kunjaragiri{Hillock}, is situated at Kurkaal, a small village in Udupi district of Karnataka . This place, also known as Vimanagiri is the abode of Goddess “Sri Durga Devi” or “Kunjara Amma”. The ancient temple built on the top of hill is nestled in the lush green, enriching the beauty of the temple serene.

Goddess “Sri Durgadevi Temple” is located at about 6-7 kilometers from Udupi, does not only houses the magnificent idol, but a scenic beauty, truly a visual-treat for the devotees. The sparely populated place embraces the spectacular and mesmerizing beauty of the nature and is surrounded by the holy “Theertha’s” and the Lord “Sri Parashurama Temple”.

Though Udupi has numerous temples in the district, the holy-shrine is visited by most of the pilgrims across the country, seeking the blessing of Goddess “Sri Durga Devi”.

ಕುಂಜಾರಗಿರಿ(ಗುಡ್ಡ) ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕುರುಕಾಲ್ ಎಂಬ ಸಣ್ಣ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಈ ಜಾಗವನ್ನು ‘ವಿಮಾನಗಿರಿ’ ಕುಂಜಾರಮ್ಮನ ವಾಸಸ್ಥಾನವೆಂದೂ ಸಹ ಕರೆಯುವ ವಾಡಿಕೆ ಇದೆ. ಈ ಸೊಗಸಾದ ಪುರಾತನ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವು ಗಿರಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಹಾಗು ಸಮೃದ್ಧ ಹಸಿರಿನಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದು ಪ್ರಶಾಂತ ವಾತಾವರಣವನ್ನೊಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ದುರ್ಗಾದೇವಿ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಉಡುಪಿ ಇಂದ ಸುಮಾರು ೬-೭ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ದೇವಿಯ ಭವ್ಯವಾದ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯು, ದೈವತ್ವದ ನೆಲೆಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಬಹಳ ವಿರಳವಾದ ಜನಸಂಖೆಯನ್ನುಳ್ಳ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವು ತನ್ನ ಪವಿತ್ರ ತೀರ್ಥಗಳು, ಪರುಶುರಾಮರ ದೇವರ ಗುಡಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾಕೃತಿಕ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತುವರೆದು ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಣೀಯರನ್ನು ಗಮನಸೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯು ಹಲವಾರು ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳನ್ನೊಳಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೂ ದುರ್ಗಾದೇವಿಯ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಯಾತ್ರಿಕರು ದೇಶಾದ್ಯಂತ ಕುಂಜಾರಗಿರಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
