Sri Govardhana Kshetra – Basavangudi
About Temple
Sri Govardhana Kshetra is located on Bull Temple Road at Basavangudi. It is a cave like temple. The temple is administered by Puthige Mutt (One of the eight mutts of Udupi). The temple is well known for its main deity Lord Krishna holding Govardana Giri on his little finger (Mountain Govardana).
ಶ್ರೀ ಗೋವರ್ಧನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವು ಬಸವನ ಗುಡಿಯ ಬುಲ್ ಟೆಂಪಲ್ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಆಡಳಿತವು ಪುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಮಠದ್ದಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ(ಉಡುಪಿಯ ಅಷ್ಟ ಮಠಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು). ಈ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಅಪರೂಪವಾದ ಗೋವರ್ಧನ ಗಿರಿಯನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕಿರು ಬೆರಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊತ್ತ ಬಾಲ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಇಂದಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದಿ ಪಡೆದಿದೆ.
