In the middle part of the city of Ernakulam, in a blooming celestial atmosphere, and just opposite to the famous Ernakulathappan Temple, Sri Hanuman occupies here in his royal divine seat. Sri Hanuman Kovil is gloriously viewed to be a holiest one. The temple is consecrated by Sri Sri Viswa Priya Swamiji, the head of the Sodapura Matt in the year 1857, in the earnest presence of Sri Venkita Rao, the Royal Diwan of Cochin.
Apart from the main deity Sri Hanuman, the idol of Sri Raghavendra Swamy and Nagaraja are also installed herein. Swamy Raghavendra is believed to be an incarnation of Sri Prahlada, who was an ardent devotee of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami. Srirama Navami & Hanumanth Jayanthi (both falls in the month of Meenam), Sree Raghavendra Worship festival (July-August) are the main annual festivals in this temple. Besides, Sathyanarayana Puja, Nagapanchami, Ayilya Puja etc are also conducted here, regularly. Ayilya Puja is performed to appease the Nagadevathas and are offered for surmounting the blemishes, Rahudoshas, Nagadoshas etc, appearing in one’s whole life. Praying for the blessings from Hanumanji, thousands of devotees visit Hanuman Kovil.
As the temple is situated in the heart of the metro city, an easy visit is possible by the people. The temple is open for public every day, and the visiting timings are 04:30 to 10.30 and 5:00 to 8.20 in the morning and evening respectively.

എറണാകുളം പട്ടണത്തിൻറെ ഹൃദയഭാഗത്ത് എറണാകുളം ശിവക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് തൊട്ടു ചേർന്നാണ് ശ്രീ ഹനുമാൻ കോവിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഏ.ഡി. 1857-ൽ അന്നത്തെ കൊച്ചി ദിവാൻ ആയിരുന്ന ശ്രീ. വെങ്കട്ടറാവുവിൻറെ മഹനീയ സാന്നിദ്ധ്യത്തിൽ, ജഗദ്ഗുരു ശ്രീ മാധ്വാചാര്യർ ഉഡുപ്പി ആസ്ഥാനമായി ആരംഭിച്ച എട്ടു ശ്രേഷ്ഠമഠങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നായ, സോദാപുര മഠത്തിൻറെ അധിപതിയായിരുന്ന ശ്രീ ശ്രീ വിശ്വപ്രിയ സ്വാമിജിയാൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കപ്പെട്ട മഹാക്ഷേത്രമാണിത്.” ശ്രീ വൃന്ദാവനാചാര്യ” എന്ന പേരിൽ കീർത്തി നേടിയ സംപൂജ്യനായ വിശ്വപ്രിയ സ്വാമിജിയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ നടന്ന പ്രതിഷ്ഠാ കർമ്മത്തിൻറെ ശിലാഫലകത്തിലുള്ള സംസ്കൃത ആലേഖനം ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ഇപ്പോഴും കാണാം. പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ഠയായ ശ്രീ ഹനുമാനോടൊപ്പം, ഭക്ത പ്രഹ്ലാദന്റെ അവതാരമായി ഭക്തര്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ശ്രീ രാഘവേന്ദ്ര സ്വാമിയുടെയും നാഗരാജാവിന്റെയും പ്രതിഷ്ഠകളും ക്ഷേത്രാങ്കണത്തില്‍ സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഹനുമാൻ സ്വാമിയുടെ അനുഗ്രഹ വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് പാത്രീഭൂതരാകുവാനും വേദാദ്ധ്യായനത്തിനും പ്രഭാഷണ ശ്രവണങ്ങൾക്കുമായി അനേകം ഭക്തജനങ്ങളാണ് അനുദിനം ഇവിടേക്കു എത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. ശ്രീരാമനവമി (മീന മാസത്തിലെ നവമി ദിവസം) ഹനുമന്ത് ജയന്തി (മീനമാസത്തിലെ പൌര്‍ണമി ദിവസം), ശ്രീ രാഘവേന്ദ്ര ആരാധനോത്സവം (ജൂലൈ-ഓഗസ്റ്റ്‌) മുതലായവയാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പ്രധാന വാര്‍ഷികാഘോഷങ്ങള്‍. വേദപഠന ക്ളാസ്സുകളും വിജ്ഞാനപ്രദങ്ങളായ പ്രഭാഷണ പരമ്പരകളും ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നിരന്തരം നടന്നു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. എറണാകുളം നഗരമധ്യത്തില്‍ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലേക്ക് ഏതൊരാള്‍ക്കും ആയാസരഹിതമായി എത്തിച്ചേരാവുന്നതാണ്. ക്ഷേത്ര ദര്‍ശന സമയം രാവിലെ 4.30 മുതല്‍ 10.30 വരെയും വൈകിട്ട് 5 മുതല്‍ 8.20 വരെയും.
