A 3 KM of travel from Ramapuram on the way to Uzhavoor almost in the middle part of Kerala in Kottayam district takes a devotee reach Lakshmana Swamy Temple at Koodappulam, the 2nd temple in the ‘Nalambalam Pilgrimage’ program. The bharatheeya architecture signifies with a particular type of landscape. The northern-eastern parts lying lower, becomes itself a source of creating positive energy. Here in this temple the land is glowing, its nature elegants and hence it joins with the vastu assessments that we can enjoy as we are in Madhuban or Vrindavan. A four handed deity of Lord Lakshmana showering blesses for his devotees is consecrated here. Besides the presiding deity, inside the temple, Lord Sri Dakshinamurthi, Lord Ganapathi are as sub deities and Yakshi and Rakshas as the two moorthies positioning outside. Near this Lakshmana Swamy temple, a Bhadrakali idol is also enshrined, in which the Goddess manifests in her own original ferocious form. An Ayyappa idol is too installed here, separately, near the Bhadrakali temple. These two shrines are coming under the administration of the main temple. This spiritual centre is owned by the well famed Kanjirappilli Mana, but temple’s everyday governance is at present rested with NSS Karayogam. The 6 day annual felicitation is propagated as, the Pallivetta to come in accordance with the last day of Mandala kalam, in the month of Dhanu. As the 2nd temple in the Nalambalam pilgrimage program, ten thousands of devotees are arriving at this worship place, in Ramayana masam (Karkitaka month) from long distances. The temple can be easily reached from any parts of the State as all types of conveyance are available every time. On ordinary days, from 5.00 to 10 AM and in the evening 5.30 to 70.30 is the time for visit. Specially, at Nalambalam pilgrimage period, the time is 5.00 to 12 Noon and in the evening 5.00 to 8.00.

മദ്ധ്യ കേരളത്തിലുള്ള കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ രാമപുരത്തു നിന്നും ഉഴവൂർ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കുള്ള വഴിയിൽ മൂന്നു കിലോമീറ്ററോളം ചെന്നാൽ കുടപ്പുലം ലക്ഷ്മണ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ എത്താം. നാലമ്പല ദർശന ക്രമത്തിലെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ ക്ഷേത്രമാണിത്. വടക്കും കിഴക്കും താഴ്‌ച്ചയുള്ള ഭൂപ്രദേശമാണു് താരതമ്യേന മറ്റു പ്രദേശങ്ങളെക്കാൾ ഊർജ്ജദായകം എന്നു ഭാരതീയ വാസ്തു ശാസ്ത്രം പറയുന്നു. വൃന്ദാവന സമാനമായ പ്രകൃതി ഭംഗി തിളങ്ങിനിൽക്കുന്ന, കിഴക്കു-വടക്കു താഴ്ചകളുളള മനോഹരമായൊരു ഗ്രാമമാണു ശ്രീ ലക്ഷ്മണ സ്വാമിയുടെ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന കുടപ്പുലം പ്രദേശം. നാലു കൈകളാലും അനുഗ്രഹം വാരിച്ചൊരിയുന്ന ചതുർബാഹുവായിട്ടാണ് ശ്രീ ലക്ഷ്മണ സ്വാമിയുടെ ഏറെ ചൈതന്യ വാഹിയായ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ. പ്രധാന പ്രതിഷ്ടാ മൂര്ത്തി യായ ലക്ഷ്മണ സ്വാമിക്ക് പുറമേ, നാലമ്പലത്തിനകത്ത് ശ്രീ ദക്ഷിണാമൂര്ത്തിയ, ശ്രീ ഗണപതി എന്നീ ദേവതകളും പുറത്ത് യക്ഷി, രക്ഷസ് എന്നീ മൂര്ത്തി കളും ശ്രീ അയ്യപ്പന്‍ പ്രത്യേക ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലുമായി പ്രതിഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൻറെ സമീപത്ത് കീഴേടമായി ഉഗ്രസ്വരൂപിണിയായ ഭദ്രകാളിയുടേയും സ്വാമി അയ്യപ്പന്റെയും ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങള്‍ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഇത് ഇവിടുത്തെ ദർശന ചൈതന്യത്തിൻറെ ശക്തി കൂട്ടുന്നു. കേരളത്തിലെ പ്രസിദ്ധ നമ്പൂതിരി (ബ്രാഹ്മണ) കുടുംബമായ “കാഞ്ഞിരപ്പള്ളി മന”യുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലാണു ക്ഷേത്രമെങ്കിലും, ദൈനംദിന കാര്യങ്ങൾ നടത്തുന്നതു സാമുദായിക സംഘടനയായ എൻ.എസ്.എസ്.കരയോഗം (നായർ സർവീസ് സൊസൈറ്റി) ആണു്. മണ്ഡലകാലത്തിന്റെക അവസാന ദിവസം പള്ളിവേട്ട വരുന്ന വിധത്തിലുള്ള 6 ദിവസത്തെ വാര്ഷിികോത്സവമാണ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലുള്ളത്. നാലമ്പല തീര്ത്ഥാ ടനത്തിലെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ ക്ഷേത്രമായത് കൊണ്ട് പതിനായിരക്കണക്കിന് ഭക്ത ജനങ്ങളാണ് രാമായണമാസത്തില്‍ ദര്ശടനത്തിന് ദേശത്തിന്റെന നാനാഭാഗത്ത് നിന്നുമായി എത്തിച്ചേരുന്നത്. എറണാകുളം പട്ടണത്തില്‍ നിന്നും ഏകദേശം 60 കിലോ മീറ്റര്‍ ദൂരത്തായി സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലേക്ക് ഏത് വിധ വാഹന സൗകര്യവും എല്ലായ്പ്പോഴും ലഭ്യമാണ്. സാധാരണ സമയങ്ങളില്‍ ക്ഷേത്ര ദര്ശ‍ന സമയം രാവിലെ 5 മുതല്‍ 10.00 വരെയും വൈകിട്ട് 5.30 മുതല്‍ 7.30 വരെയും, നാലമ്പല തീര്ഥാ1ടന കാലത്ത് രാവിലെ 5 മുതല്‍ 12.00 വരെയും വൈകിട്ട് 5 മുതല്‍ 8 വരെയുമാണ്.
