About Temple

Vishnumurthy Temple is located in Bommarabettu at Puthige Village in Udupi district. Lord Vishnmurthy is also worshipped as the Gramadevatha of Puttige village. The Temple belongs to one of the Astha Mutts of Udupi, has its history dated back to 1200 years. The Magnificent Statue of Lord Sri Vishnu, holding Shanka, Chakra, Gadha and Padma in his hands depicts divinity and grace. The Administration of the Temple is entrusted to the Peetadhipathi of Sri Puthige Matha. Every year Maharathosthava and Dwajarohana are celebrated at the shrine.

ವಿಷ್ಣುಮೂರ್ತಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನವು ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ, ಪುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಬೊಮ್ಮರಬೆಟ್ಟು ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಇದು ಪುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಗ್ರಾಮ ದೇವತೆಯೂ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಇದು ಉಡುಪಿ ಅಷ್ಟಮಠಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾದ ಪುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಮಠಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದೆ. ಈ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿ ಸುಮಾರು 1200 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಇತಿಹಾಸವಿದೆ. ಈ ಗುಡಿಯ ವಿಷ್ಣು ವಿಗ್ರಹವು ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ದೇವರ ಪ್ರಭಾವಳಿಯು ಕಟಿಪ್ರದೇಶದಿಂದ ಶಿರದವರೆಗೂ ಆವರಿಸಿದೆ. ಮೂರುತಿಯು ಶಂಖ, ಚಕ್ರ, ಗದಾ, ಪದ್ಮಧಾರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ಭಕ್ತರಭೀಷ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುತ್ತಾ ನೆಲೆಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾರಥೋತ್ಸವ ಹಾಗೂ ಧ್ವಜಾರೋಹಣವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತೀ ವರ್ಷ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಮಠದ ಪೀಠಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
