About Temple

Sri Kotilingeshwara Temple is located in Kammasandra village, near Kolar in Karnataka. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Shiva. The main attraction of the temple is a huge lingam measuring 108 ft tall at the center of the temple complex and a 35 ft tall Nandi statue in attendance. This is surrounded by lakhs of small lingams spread over an area of 15 acres. The temple was constructed by Shri Shri Shri Swamy Samba Shiva Murthy Swamy in 1972.

There are eleven small temples within the premises for various deities. These include temples to the holy trinity — Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara. Other temples are dedicated to Sri Venkataramana Swamy, Sri Annapoorneshwari, Sri Panduranga Swamy, Sri Panchamukha Ganapathy, Sri Rama, Lakshmana and Sita, Sri Anjaneya and Sri Kannika Parameshwari.

ಶ್ರೀ ಕೋಟಿ ಲಿಂಗೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಕೋಲಾರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಯಾತ್ರಾಸ್ಥಳ.
ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಆರಾಧ್ಯ ದೈವ ಶಿವ. ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಆಕರ್ಷಣೆ 108 ಅಡಿ ಎತ್ತರದ ಶಿವಲಿಂಗ, ಹಾಗು ಶಿವಲಿಂಗದ ಮುಂದಿರುವ 35 ಅಡಿ ಎತ್ತರದ ನಂದಿ ವಿಗ್ರಹ. ಶಿವಲಿಂಗ ಹಾಗು ನಂದಿಯ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಸುಮಾರು 15 ಎಕರೆ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಕ್ಷಗಟ್ಟಲೆ ಶಿವಲಿಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಶ್ರೀ ಶ್ರೀ ಶ್ರೀ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಸಾಂಬ ಶಿವಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳಿಂದ 1972ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು.

ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಪ್ರಾಕರದೊಳಗೆ ಹನ್ನೊಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳಿವೆ. ಇವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತ್ರಿಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳಾದ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ, ವಿಷ್ಣು, ಮಹೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಾಲಯ, ಶ್ರೀ ವೆಂಕಟರಮಣ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಅನ್ನಪೂರ್ಣೆಶ್ವರಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಪಾಂಡುರಂಗ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಪಂಚಮುಖ ಗಣಪತಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮ, ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಸೀತೆಯರ ದೇವಾಲಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರೀ ಕನ್ನಿಕಾ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಿ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿವೆ.
