Sri Ramachandrapura Mutt is in Hosanagara taluk of Shivamogga, Karnataka. Sri Mutt is about 400 km from Bengaluru. Sri Mutt was established by Sri Adi Shankaracharya originally near Gokarna in the west coastline of India. The mutt was initially known as Raghuttama Mutt. The present guru is Shri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji. Adi Shankaracharya is believed to have appointed one of his disciples Sri Vidyananda as the first Peethadhipati or pontiff or his immediate successor of Sri Mutt. Sri Raghavaeshwara Bharati is the 36th pontiff in the lineage of the Mutt. The Mutt has set up ten branches in Karnataka. The Sri Mutt maintains Goshalas at various places across the country.

ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರಾಪುರ ಮಠ ಅಥವಾ ರಘೂತ್ತಮ ಮಠವು ಶ್ರೀ ಆದಿ ಶಂಕರಾಚಾರ್ಯರಿಂದ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು. ಈ ಮಠದ ಮೂಲ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನವು ಹೊಸನಗರ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಕಾರಣಗಿರಿಯ ಸನಿಹ ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರಾಪುರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 400 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಈಗಿನ ಮಠಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಘವೇಶ್ವರ ಭಾರತೀ ಮಹಾಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿಯವರು ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನದ ಪರಂಪರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 36ನೆಯವರು. ಈ ಮಠದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹಸ್ತಿದಂತ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವು ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಒಂದು ವಿಶೇಷತೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಶ್ರೀ ಮಠವು ಹತ್ತು ಶಾಖೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಶ್ರೀ ಮಠದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಸಾಧನೆಯೆಂದರೆ ಶ್ರೀಗಳು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿರುವ ಗೋಶಾಲೆಗಳು.
